Job Description • Approves database specifications. • Installs and tests databases and associated products. • Provides fault isolation and resolution. • Designs the distribution of database resources. • Provides physical modeling and design services. • Implements disaster recovery and contingency plans. • Participates in the design of databases. • Contributes to the maintenance of the data dictionary. • Supports the making of a detailed conceptual data model and the translation into outline designs. • Assists in testing and carries out basic modifications to database management systems applications. • Migrates databases into training and operational environments, safeguarding existing systems from adverse effects. • Gathers data to contribute to monitoring database usage.
