Position Overview The Lighting Line of Business purchasing agent evaluates lighting demand needs at our stores against inventory and manages incoming supply accordingly to drive maximum levels of customer service. Additionally, this role serves as the liaison between our sellers, field managers, suppliers, and freight carriers through the use of analytics and clear concise communication. What you'll do: Review and analyze below-order-point queues and procure products for those stores whose volumes did not meet the auto buy parameters as applicable. Communicate with stores regarding purchasing of product and other special needs and be on call for their needs in the lighting specific product area. Communicate with vendors regarding product availability and purchase orders Assist store manager with special projects, including but not limited to early orders, product promotions and vendor negotiations Proactively track purchasing forecast accuracy and communicate with internal teams on adjustments Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures Drive continuous improvement for the organization by identifying and researching areas of opportunity, and implementing solutions to reduce cost Identify and drive analytics around our purchasing activities such as in stock availability by supplier, supplier performance (lead time, fill rate, etc.), swings in purchases in comparison to other time periods, among others Resolve vendor receiving discrepancies Manage involved freight claims (those needing significant research, vendor relationship/coordination, etc.) Manage at the Lighting HUB involved RMO’s (again, those needing significant research, vendor relationship/coordination, etc.) Help with Lighting HUB returns (possibly approve, but definitely coordinate the approval process, track/document approvals/disapprovals between requestor and receiving team) Light builds for products needed in a hurry (backup the builds, but manage the resulting cycle counts to ensure correct inventory) Transfer route documentation & assessment (assist warehouse supervisor/HUB manager to ensure efficient product route deliveries) Cycle counts (assist warehouse team as needed and as backup and handle documentation) Physical inventory (throughout the year and at year end, assist the warehouse team as needed) Assist as a backup role for large customer order management. Skills We Are Seeking Minimum 2 years of work experience in supply chain, retail or wholesale environment preferred Understanding of purchasing and inventory management philosophies Strong analytical skills and excellent customer service skills Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point Experience using Oracle, SAP, JDA or a like ERP system for inventory management a plus Bachelor’s Degree in business, supply chain, logistics, economics, or similar focus or equivalent experience Perks: Weekly Paychecks with DailyPay available!
