<div class="mds-edited-text mds-font-body-copy-bulk"><p>Central is currently recruiting for a <strong>Support Worker</strong> to work across <strong>North London</strong> (Edmonton and across the wider North London area). The service provides flexible, holistic and short-term support to clients with a wide range of support needs including <strong>ex-offenders and complex needs</strong>, with the aim of them achieving their own accommodation. </p>
<p>Please note: You will be required to travel around the North London area supporting clients in the community with the flexibility to work from home in-between visits.  </p>
<p>The successful candidate will be required to work <strong>35 hours per week</strong>, working across <strong>Monday - Friday</strong> covering early (8AM - 4PM) and late (2PM - 10PM) shifts, with one hour unpaid lunch break a day. Please note, there is a requirement to work one Saturday in every six from 8AM - 4PM. Cover is required for<strong> 4 months.</strong> The pay rate for this role is £15.29 per hour, with £2.22 holiday pay, totalling <strong>£17.51 per hour.</strong></p>
<p><strong>In this position, you will be expected to; </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Hold a case load of up to 10 key clients and carry out regular key working sessions (providing up to 2 hours of support per service user per week) </li>
<li>Plan, deliver and review effective support and safety plan with the service user referring to specialist agencies as required.</li>
<li>Complete initial and regular assessments of both current and potential service users, including any risks, of their needs and requirements.</li>
<li>Carry out property inspections and report repairs promptly.</li>
<li>Maximise rent collection, ensuring successful housing and other welfare benefit claims are submitted and maintained.</li>
<li>Support service users to undertake domestic tasks and provide practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills.</li>
<li>Work with service users to develop move on plans and identifying realistic options for independent or more appropriate housing. </li>
<li>Engage with potential referral agencies including local authority central access point/gateway services, statutory and voluntary sector agencies.</li>
<li>Ensure properties are adequately equipped, maintained and furnished. This includes carrying out basic cleaning of the properties such as hoovering, dusting and removing left belongings</li>
<li>Minimise void time by ensuring properties are re-let as soon as possible.</li>
<li>Develop practical life skill sessions/programmes with service users.</li>
<li>Ensure the correct tenure and support agreement are issued and service users comply with these agreements.</li>
</ul>
<p>Please note: this role involves loneworking. </p>
<p><strong>To apply for this role, you must have;  </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience working with vulnerable adults with complex needs (such as substance misuse, physical health, mental health, ex-offenders, seeking employment and housing support). </li>
<li>Experience managing a caseload and carrying out key working sessions </li>
<li>Extensive knowledge of support planning and safeguarding</li>
<li>Experience completing Health and Safety checks within a supported housing setting</li>
<li>Desirable; clean and valid driving licence with access to a car </li>
</ul>
<p>Please note; if successfully appointed, the organisation will carry out driving license and prison clearance checks. </p>

<p><strong>Further requirements:</strong></p>
<p>In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:</p>
<ul>
<li>Current valid right to work in the UK</li>
<li>Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)</li>
<li>A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £50)</li>
<li>Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process</li>
