Open Source Developer

The Open Source Developer is a critical role in the Emerging Technology Security practice. In this role you will be working with a core team of open source specialist and application security experts to remediate identified vulnerabilities, implement code level security controls to enhance the security of the open source projects. Your ability to read code and modify the code (as required) in a secure manner will be critical for securing open source projects. Collaborate with the Security architects to implement suitable code level security control measures for addressing the identified security gaps Collaborate with Open Source Specialist for evaluating / assessing changes in open source projects Develop fixes / patches to remediate identified vulnerability issues in open source projects. Support DevOps Engineers in automation activities Involve in enhancing the functional capabilities of open source security tools Build additional test cases for remediation purpose and enhance code coverage through these automated test cases. ( Leverage Test Driven Development approach). Collaborate with the open source security team to perform security simulation activities for validating implemented security patches. Contribute to open source community initiatives. 6- 10 years with of total experience including 4+years contributing to open source projects / working on open source technologies. Experience with any of the following programming languages Java / PHP / Python / Go / NodeJS / JavaScript / Kotlin / Ruby is mandatory Should have hands on experience with configuration management tools like Ansible Should have experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes Should have good bash /python scripting skills Should have Test Driven Development experience while working on open source projects / working on applications using open source technologieShould have experience in refactoring open source code for code optimization and improving performanc Should have experience in refactoring open source code for code optimization and improving performance Should have experience in remediating identified issues. Should have experience working in a product company Strong communication skills. 6- 10 years with of total experience including 4+years contributing to open source projects / working on open source technologies.
