This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across multiple technology domains and engage in the latest and greatest technology services being developed at a world class company Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? VMware Command Center SRE on this team are responsible for working cross-functionally across different business units, teams and technology stacks and differing service architectures Within the first 90 days of employment, become familiar with tools and technologies, guidelines and standard operations followed by Command Center. Work closely with senior members of the team to get onboard Within 180 days (about 6 months), become immersed in all aspects of our innovative and collaborative culture and ensure you get the full VMware experience. With minimal supervision, you will deliver valuable and scalable services and automation to drive Command Center to the next frontier The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? 5 to 7 Yrs of work experience as an SRE Strong automation skills such as Python, PowerShell, Shell scripting Experience working with production SaaS / Cloud based systems Experience in CICD tools such as Jenkins, Gitlab/GitHub or others Experience with container orchestrators such as Kubernetes, Docker Native, Docker Swarm or others Good working knowledge of at least one public cloud such as AWS, Azure or GCP Deep understanding of the Web application architecture and features. Experience with ticketing tools such as Jira, ServiceNow or Remedy Highly motivated, quality-conscious self-starter that requires little to no supervision Strong communication skills with an ability to relay incident details expeditiously, concisely, and accurately Solid understanding of system performance and monitoring Work closely with service teams to improve maintainability and reliability of services Willing to work in 24/7, 3 shift operations and rotational weekend coverage (5 days a week work) What is the leadership like for this role?
