Intermediate Process Engineer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is seeking an experienced<b> Intermediate Process Engineer </b>to join our busy and growing Oil & Gas Canada team in<b> Trail, BC. </b> This role will work the standard office hybrid work schedule. <br><br>Reporting to the Engineering Department Manager, this position is located in our <b> Trail, BC office </b>. This role has overall responsibility for process design and process engineering activities, with a focus on carbon capture and utilization projects, which will include studies through detailed design. Trail, located in Southeastern British Columbia near the cities of Rossland, Nelson, and Castlegar, is an affordable family-oriented community of approximately 10,000 people. Come work where most people dream of going to play! <br><br>Wood's Trail engineering team and company-wide environmental specialists are focused on Carbon Management & reduction initiatives and are providing solutions to Industrial clients within the region to reduce emissions and protect our environment. <br><br><b> Key Responsibilities </b> : <br><ul><li> Developing, reviewing and approving process plant material balance, process design criteria, Process Flow Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Drawings, plant layouts and 3-D models, technical specifications, technical evaluations and providing recommendations for equipment purchases for the CO2 capture system. </li><li> Developing process circuit design from analysis and interpretation of test work program results or plant data </li><li> Participating in, and eventually chairing, process plant HAZOP reviews Participating in design reviews (model reviews, ergonomics, maintainability) and managing resolution of action items </li><li> Evaluate an amine acid gas treatment and glycol gas dehydration process from the pilot plant size to full commercial scale CO2 capture plant </li><li> Working alongside expert colleagues from Wood's global consulting group as well as directing and managing the activities of project process engineers </li><li> Providing test work definition, supervision and interpretation </li><li> Liaising with client process engineers on design issues and incorporating client requirements in a cost effective and low risk manner </li><li> Providing on-site support during construction and commissioning, or for operational improvement </li><li>Assisting in the development of capital and operating cost estimates for metallurgical processes</li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Undergraduate Degree in Mineral Processing, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related discipline </li><li> A minimum of 5 years' recent experience in mineral processing or metallurgy, with at least 2 years of industrial plant experience in base and/or precious metals processing </li><li> Experience with carbon capture process and familiarity with process modelling software would be considered assets </li><li> Experience working in the mining consulting industry </li><li> Ability to register as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia </li><li> Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
