Physician Assistant Program Director - Pediatric Surgery - MSH - Full Time/Days

The Program Director is a credentialed individual, responsible for daily operations of all specialty health program and clinical services within home department, including Mount Sinai Hospital (East campus), member hospitals and off - campus satellites. Responsible for constituent administrative and business operations, clinical integrity and for compliance with all regulatory requirements and institutional policies and procedures. Reports to the Medical Director, Administrative Director, Vice Chair or department Chair. Roles & Responsibilities: Oversees operational integration and day to day management of the following areas as they relate to clinical services (including but not limited to): Finance, Legal Affairs, Contracts, Compliance, IT, Real Estate/Facilities, Human Resources/Labor Relations, etc. Develops and implements ongoing performance/process improvement programming. Identifies patterns or trends that require action. Identifies and implements best practices and relevant guidelines in each service area. Collaborates with other members of the health care team in the development, implementation, and ongoing review of policies, procedures, and standards of care for designated patient populations.Takes an active role in developing the program budgets and grants. May monitor, verify and oversee the reconciliation of budget expenditures. Initiates and coordinates administrative and clinical aspects of program development, including new clinics and operations, new organizational structures, space allocation, access improvements, etc. Monitors income/payments and expenses. Develops and implements strategies to increase income/payments and reduce expenses. Handles budgeting and tracks / develops strategies to address budgetary constraints and incorporates appropriate business planning into program development including resource allocation. Facilitates inter-programmatic collaboration between all Mount Sinai Health System campus programs, divisions, departments, services and units. Reviews and identifies ongoing educational staff development needs. Oversees the development and implementation of effective educational orientation programs. Facilitates inter-programmatic collaboration between Mount Sinai Hospital campus health programs and those of Mount Sinai St. Luke’s, Mount Sinai West, Mount Sinai Beth Israel, and related off-site clinical services. May oversee Electronic Information Systems coordination and management. Develops (independently or in conjunction with other department professionals and leadership) and maintains management information reporting for service areas, including measures of patient volume, activity, demographics, service utilization, productivity and profitability. Serves as direct liaison with medical and nursing leadership on operational issues. Represents the department on Regulatory, Performance Improvement and Focus Review Committees and assures timely reporting to this committee, extramural agencies (Justice Center, DOH, OMH) and development and implementation of any corrective action plans. Assures readiness for all regulatory surveys, and leads management during site visits. Promotes and maintains a safe and therapeutic environment, and an interdisciplinary approach in quality patient care delivery. Schedules, assigns and evaluates the work of reporting subordinates. Other relevant duties as assigned. Requirements: Bachelors degree (Master’s or greater preferred) in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology or related medical field, or combination of relevant clinical experience and education Current NYS clinical licensure (Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, P.A. or related profession). Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership and organizational skills. Substantial experience and established competency assuring compliance with the range of regulatory requirements pertaining to the operation of health services. Analytic ability to collect and organize information, identifies problems and trends, and formulate and implement corrective plans and programs. Ability to develop, coordinate, prioritize and allocate resources. The salary range for the role is $115,494.00 - $173,241.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
