Title: Nursing Clinical Specialty Manager - Pre-Liver Transplant - MSH - Full-Time Day The Nursing Specialty Manager is an Advanced Practice Nurse with advanced and diverse clinical and leadership knowledge and skills and assumes a direct leadership responsibility for the practice of the Transplant Coordinators and support staff in the Transplant Program. Responsibility extends to ongoing program development, quality assurance/performance improvement, staff development and promotion of multi-disciplinary program activity. In addition, demonstrates responsibility for facilitating positive interaction with all departments and personnel involved in the transplant process and for public and professional education about the transplant process. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. 1. Is responsible and accountable for their own nursing practice. 2. 2. Responsible for 24 hour back-up on-call for each clinical program, providing advanced clinical, financial and management input to the organization and scheduling of organ procurements and transplants. 3. 3. Supervises the nursing practice of the Transplant Coordinators in the adult transplant areas and functions as a resource person for personnel in problem solving diverse issues related to the transplant process. 4. 4. Oversees the patient evaluation process, listing process, waiting list management, transplant process and pre and post-transplant patient care in both the outpatient and inpatient areas. 5. 5. Participates in inter-disciplinary team rounds, clinical rounds, recipient selection committee and relevant program activities to maintain currency on all clinical aspects of program operations. 6. 6. Act as a catalyst for the development of innovative activities, policies and procedures that contribute to the continuous improvement of the delivery of patient care. Plays a significant role in the development of protocols. Education: Graduate on AACN accredited (or equivalent) School of Nursing. Bachelor of Science, Masters degree preferred (required if NP) RN license required, NP license required (if NP) Experience: 3+ years experience as clinical nurse coordinator in organ transplant. Licenses: 1. RN Compensation The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $115,494.00 - $173,241.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
