Intermediate - Senior Structural Designer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is seeking an experienced<b> Intermediate - Senior Structural Designer</b> to join our busy and growing team in Trail, BC. The role will work within <b>Trail BC location on a hybrid work schedule.</b> <br><br>The area offers excellent education and health care facilities, as well as access to world-class skiing at Red Mountain, hiking, boating, fishing, hunting, golf and all outdoor activities available in the Kootenays. <br><br>This role has overall responsibility for providing Structural Design support on a wide variety of industrial projects. <br><br>Wood's Trail engineering team and company-wide environmental specialists are focused on Carbon Management & reduction initiatives and are providing solutions to Energy services within the region to reduce emissions and protect our environment. <br><br><b> Key Responsibilities: </b><br><ul><li> Provide structural design, 3D modeling and drafting support for the construction or repair of industrial buildings, facilities and services </li><li> Prepare drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and/or wood structures using primarily Aveva E3D/PDMS and/or AutoCAD. </li><li> Reviewing project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation against project standards and specifications. </li><li> Prepare MTOs for project estimates. </li><li> Review Vendor shop drawings. </li><li> Checking work prepared by other Structural Designers. </li><li> Perform site visits to obtain field information to support design executon. </li><li> Coordinate and work with project team members across all disciplines </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Technical diploma with experience in structural design and drafting </li><li> 5+ years of 3D Design / drafting experience with advanced skills primarily using AVEVA E3D/PDMS <br></li><li> Solid understanding of structural and architectural engineering aspects of light to heavy industrial projects </li><li> Experience working on mining and/or heavy industrial projects would be considered an asset <br></li><li> Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks <br></li><li> Effective communication skills <br></li><li> Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment <br></li><li> Experience with Microsoft Office suite of software </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
