teamwood! <br><br><b> Key Responsibilities: </b><br><br>Reporting to the Mechanical Department Manager, the role supports Wood's strategic initiatives to build our presence in Sarnia and service energy and petrochemical clients in the region. <br><ul><li> In-depth knowledge in either one or more of the following areas: </li><ul><li> Rotating Equipment (pumps, air-compressors, steam/gas turbines, etc.); </li><li> Stationary Equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, etc.); </li><li> HVAC Systems/Equipment; </li><li> Materials Handling (cranes, davits, etc.). </li></ul><li> Generating new Mechanical specifications, expand / update current specifications, preparing deviation on specifications. </li><li> Generating technical decision records and project decision records as related to Mechanical engineering. </li><li> Create, specify, and maintain data sheets for Mechanical Equipment such that the items can be purchased. </li><li> Compilation of RFQs c/w specifications, scopes, and data sheets. </li><li> Review quotations from suppliers and perform a technical bid evaluation of the equipment offered. </li><li> Make a technical assessments and recommendations when required. </li><li> Post purchase order placement package management, including review and approval of supplier documentation for the equipment. </li><li> An awareness and understanding of non-destructive testing examination methods/requirements. </li><li> Display an awareness of corrosion characteristics and welding processes. </li><li> Visit the supplier's shop or the client's site. </li><li> Develop Construction Work Packages specific to mechanical scope. </li><li> Assist with the preparation of technical work practices to ensure consistent working methods </li><li> Liaise with the engineering disciplines: Piping, Process, I&C, Electrical, CSA, Procurement and Material Control. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in PEO </li><li> 10 to 15 years of relevant EPC experience working on Oil and Gas projects. </li><li> Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering </li><li> Canadian experience in conceptual, front-end, and detailed engineering on various mid to large capital projects in oil & gas, Oilsands including Refinery, Upgrader, SAGD, and Petro-Chemicals </li><li> In-depth knowledge of industry codes: ASME, API and Canadian Codes </li><li> Hands-on field/site experience in operations, mechanical equipment maintenance, inspections and workshop repairs and turnarounds will be considered an asset </li><li> Knowledge and proven application in all aspects of Materials, Welding and NDE will be considered an asset </li><li> Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks. </li><li> Strong technical writing skills; experienced in the preparation of correspondence and technical reports. </li><li> Effective verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skills. </li><li> Ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment. </li><li> Willing to travel and accept field assignments. </li><li> Motivated by working with people, through internal collaboration or with external clients. </li><li> Loves to share knowledge, experiences, and expertise with others to assist, mentor and coach less experience members of the team in their development. </li><li> Proficiency in AutoCAD, or similar, software would be considered an asset. </li><li> Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel) </li><li> Must be legally able to work in Canada at the time of application </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
