HR Tech Data Engineer

The primary goals of the team are: - To build and run an HR data platform which can create and deliver analytics to colleagues and deliver regulatory reporting - Ingest and transform data from multiple HR systems, modelling data and engineering data marts to create reusable data assets - To create a self service BI platform, enabling colleagues across the HR functions to get value from data The Main purpose of the role: Build and operate the HR Analytics platform for Rentokil Initial. Line management of Data Analysts including performance management and evaluation, regular 1-2-1 meetings to discuss workload and personal development. Working with the Data/Solutions Architect, this role will be pivotal to: ● Defining data principles, data architecture and data governance for HR Tech products ● Delivering data quality assessments and improvement plans ● Directly and indirectly, delivering key reports and analytical insight to a wide variety of stakeholders ● Supporting the Workday agenda with platform reporting and Prism strategy ● Delivering Global Employer of Choice reporting in line with HR’s prioritisation Tasks: ● Develop and maintain data integration processes to ensure data quality and accuracy in HR Tech systems ● Deliver quality data engineering solutions of low-moderate complexity without clear requirements ● Transform data in various ways to support data analysts and HR leadership ● Build and design a scalable and extensible data architecture ● Develop and maintain data processing platforms including frameworks ● Work in close collaboration with IT & Group Data on infrastructure, data pipelines and the production of analytical models ● Actively researching the latest innovation in the industry and encouraging a continuous learning environment in the team and in the business. ● Design and implement data warehousing solutions to support reporting and analytics ● Identify and troubleshoot data issues and provide solutions ● Work closely with HR and IT teams to understand data needs and requirements ● Collaborate with other data engineers to ensure data consistency and integrity across systems ● Continuously monitor and optimise data performance and scalability Requirements ● Good understanding and track record of delivering complex data solutions using Agile methods including Scrum, SAFe etc. ● Excellent communication skills, capable of talking to people across IT and business, as well as to stakeholders at various levels of the company, ● Hands-on approach, proactive and self starting ● Desire to deliver the best quality and meet the client’s needs ● Advanced experience in designing and creating data models ● Strong with SQL for data interrogation and transformation, a robust understanding of relational data and the ability to manipulate fact data along multiple dimensions. ● Experience with deploying solutions in Cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP), ideally GCP ● Overall business intelligence knowledge ● Experience using ETL tools to deliver data integration for batch and streaming use cases ● Willingness to self-study and learn new skills to handle any upcoming tasks ● Hands-on experience of modern software CI/CD techniques to automate the build and deployment of data solutions ● Use of source code version control (e.g. Git, Bitbucket) ● Desirable to have experience in the exploitation of real-time processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark or Apache Beam) and associated business use cases ● Desirable to have experience working with BigQuery, Java and/or Python ● Desirable to have experience with integrating HR Tech systems; Workday and others ● Experience working with and adhering to Information Security standards, support procedures and incident response ● Strong prioritisation and communication skills ● High level of analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to Benefits Competitive salary Bonus RI Rewards Hybrid working Free carparking
