Mechanical Engineer - Static

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for Mechanical Engineer - Static with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. Candidate must be able to work on daily basis 6/1 in Basra, Iraq <br><br><ul><li> Key Responsibilities and duties </li><li> As a Mechanical Static Engineer, he/she shall act as a key person of the project as designated by Lead Mechanical Static Engineer and performs Static equipment, Piping and Pipeline engineering needs across CLIENT Projects </li><li> Responsible for the inhouse design in Static Equipment and Piping which includes<br>1) Preparation of mechanical data sheets 2) Review of vendor drawings 3) Checking Mechanical package design and construction drawings and design calculations 4) Development of layout plot layout for equipment and piping 5) Pipe routing studies, 6) Material take off 7) Stress analysis report for piping and piping support 8) BoQ development 8) Identification of Tie-in locations in field 8) performs walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design </li><li> Responsible for requisitioning of static equipment and packages </li><li> Responsible for preparing technical specifications and data sheets for static equipments, review of the Contractor engineering works, selection of static equipment and packaged equipment on projects like TEG/Compressor package, Chem Injection package, H2S removal package, water treatment Package, Process vessels, Separators, Air Coolers, S&T Heat Exchangers, Tanks, flare packages through the various engineering work phases (i.e. Pre FEED, FEED studies, and detailed engineering and Vendor management and Construction support) </li><li> Responsible for detailed engineering and construction of Packages and Static Equipments in compliance with International codes ASME Sec VIII Div-1, Div-2 codes on EPC projects in compliance with International ASME, API codes & CLIENT Specification requirements </li><li> Execute detailed engineering of pipeline, review of pipeline deliverables and construction/installation support engineering or follow-on engineering, Procurement support, etc. </li><li> Perform onshore pipeline design, Analyses/calculations, Pipeline Design Basis, Pipeline Route optimization, Wall thickness calculation, Crossings design and analysis, Cathodic protection design etc </li><li> Carry out pipeline material class development, material take-offs and other technical reports and specifications </li><li> Review field layouts, route map, alignment sheets, crossings, approach drawings for pipeline design </li><li> Prepare technical requisitions, datasheets, specifications, technical bid evaluation, vendor data review, technical clarifications, inspection and test plans, Criticality rating for pipeline items such as Line Pipes, Induction Bends, Flange/Fittings, Coating, Valves and other as procurement support engineering </li><li> Coordinates work with inter-disciplines, Engineering Contractors, Vendors and suppliers </li><li> Responsible for the preparation/review of technical evaluation of Bids; preparation of technical bid evaluation reports by interacting with Suppliers and inter disciplines </li><li> Participates Design reviews, Model review studies for packages, co-ordinates and close out Mechanical/Piping/Pipeline related issues </li><li> Performs vendor document and design reviews for piping, static equipment packages </li><li> Prepare the design basis/ review CTRs for the static/piping/pipeline design and engineering </li><li> Participates in project teams as a discipline engineer<br> </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br>Education: <br><br><ul><li> Minimum B.Sc degree in Mechanical Engineering/Materials/ Industrial Engineering </li></ul><br><br>Experience: <br><ul><li> Minimum 8 Years of Experience as a Mechanical static / Piping engineer at least in one of following </li><li> In operating units in Engineering team / Construction/ Commissioning / Maintenance </li><li> In EPC contractor offices in design office/ field engineering / Construction / Commissioning </li></ul><br><br>Languages: <br><ul><li> Arabic ( Reading, Writing and Speaking) </li><li> English (Reading, Writing and Speaking) </li></ul><br><br>Key Skills required : <br><ul><li> Understanding of ASME B 31.3/ 31.4/ 31.8, ASME sec 8 div1/2, ASME Sec XI. </li><li> Well acquainted in international codes like API, ISO, DIN, BS, ASME, & other Oil & Gas related codes and standards what to use when. </li><li> Planning and organizational skills. </li><li> Understanding and applying design and construction standards applicable for pressure equipment, pipeline and piping systems in oil and gas facilities. </li><li> Should have hands on experience in design, construction or commissioning of static equipments pipeline, piping and packages. </li><li> Co-ordinate among project team members and engineering contractor and vendors on technical matters. </li><li> Ability to use computer equipment and MS- Word, Excel, power point, Outlook. </li><li> Thorough with the multidiscipline engineering functions pertaining to the packaged equipment. </li><li> Good knowledge of 3D Model review through Naviswork. </li><li> Working experience in AUTOCAD/CAESAR-II/ PV Elite added advantage. </li><li> Understanding safety. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
