Undergrad Technical Intern - Power System Analytics

Responsibilities The Electricity Infrastructure Group is looking for a university intern to work with a team of senior engineers to create high impact solutions for the electricity grid. The intern will come up with creative new solutions to real world problems and fuse knowledge from many disciplines. The intern will take initiative to identify opportunities to contribute, communicate their questions and results, find solutions to ambiguously defined problems, and create reusable software tools. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must be degree-seeking undergraduate students enrolled at an accredited college or university. Candidates must be taking at least 6 credit hours and have an overall cumulative GPA of 2.5. Preferred Qualifications: Must have background in power systems engineering, Must have completed undergraduate power systems engineering classes Strong written and verbal communication skills Previous project experience creating concrete results both while working independently and with a team Experience in modeling and simulation on the electromechanical simulation platforms (PSS/E, PSLF) Confident programming skills in Python. Microsoft Excel proficiency Preference for candidates in electrical engineering, math, and computer engineering/science with basic coursework completed in power systems modeling.
