MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: At General Mills, our Senior Financial Analysts provide financial support and thought leadership to drive cost management by actively partnering with cross functional teams to drive operational and performance strategies. As a Sr. Financial Analyst, SC Finance, you will be expected to demonstrate the following key competencies: BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP & FINANCIAL LEADERSHIP: Partners closely with Supply Chain Managers, Project Managers, and business partners to carry out key objectives (BU portfolio investments, Holistic Margin Management initiatives, cost avoidance opportunities, capital projects, IRR, CPA and strategic business changes) and deliver on project expectations. Supports PEAK sub-PEAK Process: BU Management Business Results, Project Management Review, Supply Review, and COGs Review, by providing the team with relevant supply chain data and analytics. Provides strategic and/or financial recommendations based on COGs implications and/or foreseeable events and market news. Ensures integrity of costs modelled to drive the right business decisions. Proactively engages in productive discourse with key cross functional stakeholders across all levels of the organization to guide and influence decision making. Leads the execution of the Annual Foods COGs planning process to ensure accuracy and completeness of detailed budget builds by functional areas (Sourcing, Manufacturing, Logistics), Incorporating BU level accuracy where feasible. BUSINESS PERFORMANCE Lead the monthly management of Controllable costs with respective budget owners to drive accountability and clarity of cost performance and forecast reviews, including a robust Risk & Opportunity process. Supports COGs estimate process and drive proper action plans to focus on improving monthly/quarterly/annual outlook. Executes monthly analysis of various performance results versus plan/forecast and Reports on key drivers of variances for month-end reporting. Providing business insights through detailed build and comparative analytics of Innovation, Product Architecture changes, and Holistic Margin Management initiatives, to drive business results. In-depth Portfolio analysis on COGs driven by fluctuations of gross margin to mitigate risks and/or seize opportunities. Owner of COGs Standard Rates by functional area (fixed and variable). Support ad-hoc analysis of COGs to achieve BU initiatives and projects. FIDUCIARY RESPONSIBILITY Ensures governance and controls are top of mind including year-end expense recognition rules. CHAMPIONSHIP TALENT Acts as a mentor to the wider analyst community, sharing best practices and effective methods of working while actively seeking and actioning upon areas for further improvement. Responsible for training and onboarding of new team members. Advances financial literacy with cross functional business partners. Enhances existing processes to create efficiencies in ways of working while leveraging opportunities for ad-hoc projects. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Administration required At least 3 years of relevant experience MBA or CPA designation is an asset Superior analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong ability to translate financial analysis into insights & into action Strong verbal and written communication skills Team player who can influence others within the business teams Prior CPG experienced (Preferred) General Mills is committed to Employment Equity and encourages applications from all qualified candidates.
