Working with the vRealize Operations Cloud DevOps team at VMware, you will be engaged in DevOps and production engineering for a real-time data collection/processing and visualization SaaS service. This position will allow you to be part of an exciting journey as vROps Cloud is a comparably new SaaS offering of VMware, and there are a lot of areas to improve its observability and operations for driving it to excellence. This position provides a unique opportunity to grow your career by deepening your knowledge of production engineering and observability for cloud services, CI/CD orchestration, automation, and cross-team collaboration. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? Within 30 days of employment, become competent with VMware virtualization tools and vROps Cloud in particular. You will work closely with the team members to learn about the tasks and areas they are working on. You will also learn about major VMware products such as vSphere, vRLI, and others. Within 60-90 days of employment, become familiar with all processes and code base the team owns and join the vROps Cloud on-call shift. By the end of 60 days you should already be able to contribute to group assignments under supervision of your peers. Within 120-180 days of employment take over individual assignments and run them with minimal support of your peers. Within 180-360 days you will contribute to the saas-first strategy of the company through taking end to end ownership over small scale projects What type of work will you be doing? Your regular activities may be modified to suit your professional strengths, but you can expect a variety of the following assignments: Be responsible for availability of a large-scale cloud service Add features and maintain devops tools and services (rest services and bash/Ansible scripts) Improve and maintain the infra of a SaaS product Prepare the operations to efficiently support service at large scale Work on ways to automate and improve development and release processes Work with R&D team to ensure they are all setup for smooth and efficient operations Improve processes through introducing 0 touch automations Attend global syncup calls with peer teams in US and India What is the leadership like for this role?
