<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood has openings for an entry level <b>Junior Mechanical/Piping Design Drafters </b>within our Forest Industries business in Grande Prairie, Alberta<b>.</b> <br><br> The Wood Renewable Energy & Power business in Grande Prairie provides our team with challenging projects in Pulp & Paper, Seed Oils, Oil & Gas and Municipal projects. So, if you are self-motivated and thrive on challenges in a fast-paced environment, this may be the career path for you. <br><br><b> Key Responsibilities: </b> <br><ul><li> Creating drawings and diagrams under the direct supervision of an Engineer or Designer such as: General arrangements, sections, elevations, bills of materials, cable, duct, and bolt schedules and equipment layout drawings </li><li> Retrieving, entering, and updating design data within drawings </li><li> Complying to design documentation including e-mails, letters, memos, forms, schedules, work plans, and technical requirements </li><li> Checking drawings for conflicts and conformance with project design and/or CAD Engineering standards </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Diploma in Computer Aided Design technology from an accredited University/College or equivalent - Pipe Design/Drafting program an asset, but not required </li><li> Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation and MS Office </li><li> Proficient in 2D/3D CAD systems </li><li> Knowledge and experience with design codes </li><li> Excellent attention to detail and accuracy </li><li> Open minded and fast learner </li><li> Good verbal and written communication skills are required </li><li> Must be able to handle multiple tasks and functions </li><li> Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment with minimal supervision </li><li> Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume and deadline-driven environment </li><li> Strong analytical and problem-solving skills </li><li> The successful candidate shall have experience and posses the physical ability to work out of the office on heavy industrial sites independently and safely. </li></ul><br> This position is open to those legally available to work in Canada.
