<div class="mds-edited-text mds-font-body-copy-bulk"><p>Are you an outstanding Media & PR professional? Are you available immediately?</p>
<p>This is a full time, hybrid and temporary role for a minimum 3 months. You will join the team responsible for proactive and reactive media relations and be required to work both independently and collaboratively on specific projects to deliver the department's media objectives. You will be able to develop an understanding of how the organisation works as an organisation and to work flexibly to communicate its vision.</p>
<p>You will have a strong interest in current affairs and have proven experience of working with a range of media and a sound knowledge of their audiences. You are articulate and have excellent communication skills with the ability to grasp sometimes complex information and convert it into accessible language. You recognise the urgent nature of some media calls and can prioritise existing work accordingly. You will have the ability to build strong relationships with all our stakeholders.</p>
<p>- Generate positive publicity for the organisation and the records it holds by initiating and developing contacts in national, regional and specialist press, broadcast and online media.</p>
<p>- Act as Media Team spokesperson responding to media enquiries on a day-to-day basis and brief experts/spokespeople on media handling for interviews.</p>
<p>- Write and distribute news releases, pitches and features</p>
<p>- Develop and implement media strategies for projects for which you are media lead, in liaison with colleagues and other teams. This includes identifying suitable media outlets, writing and distributing material, working with journalists and responding to their related queries and evaluating outcomes.</p>
<p>-Share, with other Media Team colleagues, responsibility for organising and supervising visits by film crew</p>
<p>We operate a hybrid system where you are able to spend part of the week working from home but you will be expected to be in the office at Kew at least one day each week.</p>
