Cost Engineer

We are currently supporting a market-leading energy industry consultancy in their search for a Cost Engineer to join them on a staff basis in their Aberdeen office.<br> This is a fantastic opportunity to join an international company that is involved in exciting projects across the hydrocarbon, renewables and alternative energy sectors.<br><br><b>JOB PURPOSE:</b><br> Responsible, on projects for monitoring costs during project delivery and the collation of cost information for the administration of key performance indicators. Also responsible for estimating costs for project modifications including engineering, construction and fabrication.<br><br><b>REPORTING LINES AND INTERACTIONS:</b><br> Hierarchically reports to: Project Controls Manager<br> Operationally reports to: Project Manager<br><br><b>TYPICAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:</b><br> Must have:<br> <ul> <li>Graduate engineer or equivalent qualification.</li> <li>Experience of engineering design service contracts.</li> <li>Knowledge of both greenfield and brownfield estimating methodology.</li> <li>Minimum 5 years, in both greenfield and brownfield industrial or engineering projects, with at least 2 years in the oil and gas sector.</li> <li>Familiar with the administration of Key Performance Indicators (KPI).</li> <li>Computer proficiency - Excel essential</li> </ul> <br><br> <b>MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:</b><br> Prepare time-writing codes for new projects once approvals have been granted.<br> Monitor non-billable time, within the project team, to ensure this is kept within the agreed overhead charge. Provide up to date status of costs for each project including costs incurred and costs liable.<br> Liaise with corporate team for timely billing of man-hour costs.
