HIRE REQ: Tech School Service Intern

The Technician Intern will work under high-level mentor technicians in Rush Truck Centers to develop and improve a level 1 skillset. They will be provided the necessary tools, training, and guidance to fast'track their learning with the goal of becoming a full-time technician in a year or less. The position is designed to complement a technical based school curriculum, working hand-in-hand with classroom learning. Interns will assist mentor technicians with maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of commercial vehicles according to OEM standards and procedures. This position is designed for a self-driven and responsible individual to learn from the best technicians in the industry and demonstrate their initiative to learn, perform, and advance. Responsibilities Overview: Assist Service Technicians with general service work Learn and follow correct safety procedures necessary to successfully complete job tasks Continue Rush and Manufacturer specific training Listen and learn from mentoring technicians Dedication to dealership and schoolwork Maintain a clean and safe work area Basic Qualifications: Must be currently enrolled in an approved Diesel Technology program. Must possess a current and valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company’s insurance carrier. Possible move into the Apprentice role upon graduation does not guarantee full-time employment at end of internship.
