</b> development plans that are tailored to your individual needs and interests </li><li><b> Global connections </b> ; join experts around the world who are at the leading edge of our industry, shaping the standards of our profession </li><li><b> If all of this sounds good to you, review the typical responsibilities of the role and the requirements of the position below, then follow the link to apply and start your journey with Wood. </b></li></ul><br> <b>Day-to-day responsibilities:</b> <br><br><ul><li> Produce and check Technical Safety engineering deliverables required for project execution </li><li> Produce Design Safety engineering deliverables including, but not limited to, philosophies, design HSE plans, safety specifications, equipment specifications, schedules, risk assessments, drawings </li><li> Lead and report formal process safety assessments such as HAZID, HAZOP and SIL target setting studies </li><li> Input to, and participation at project design assurance reviews such as P&ID reviews, HAZCON, Constructability reviews </li><li> Coordinate external specialist consultants' safety studies and specialist services </li><li> Support to projects on regulatory requirements including COMAH, DSEAR, PSR and PUWER </li><li> Carryout active and passive fire protection assessments including, but not limited to, fire risk assessments, fire protection philosophies, fire water demand calculations, fire water adequacy checks and hydraulic calculations using PIPENET spray/sprinkler module </li><li> Provide services including QRA, EERA, dispersion modelling, thermal radiation and blast modelling </li><li> Develop and implement functional safety management plans (BS EN-61511), including Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS) </li><li> Provide technical support to projects and sites as required </li><li> Produce and review specifications, data sheets, schedules, study reports, and design calculations; ensuring that they conform to engineering quality, competence, and project management systems </li><li> Attend client meetings and communicate issues with lead engineer as required </li><li> Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement </li><li> Ensure awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislative changes, initiatives and industry technology developments </li><li> Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of process safety and environmental engineering methodologies, software systems, and design practices as they relate to FEED, Detail Design, Construction, Commissioning, and plant Start-up </li><li> Provision of guidance and support on appropriate safety and environmental engineering </li><li> Awareness of international codes and standards </li></ul><br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br>Essential: <br><ul><li> Engineering degree in a relevant subject, preferably Process Engineering </li><li> Relevant project experience </li><li> Experience of hazard studies (HAZID, HAZOP & LOPA) </li><li> Fire and Explosion protection engineering, including consequence analysis and fire risk assessment </li><li> Gas (toxic & flammable) dispersion consequence analysis and fire and gas detection methodologies </li><li> Effective communication skills </li><li> Competent user of standard Microsoft Office package, particularly MS Word and Excel </li><li> Applicants should be able to obtain a UK security clearance </li></ul><br> Desirable: <br><ul><li> Chartered Engineer </li><li> Post-graduate qualification in process safety related subjects </li><li> Awareness of process operations and/or brownfield modifications </li><li> Experienced user of industry standard software packages such as PIPENET, DNV PHAST, exSILentia, PHA Pro, HAZOP Manager </li><li> Certified Functional Safety Engineer </li><li> Certified Hazard Study leader </li><li> DSEAR risk assessment experience </li><li> Environmental Protection Engineering </li></ul><br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
