Þpartment Overview Osttra combines the flagship electronic trade confirmation, position reconciliation and related workflow platforms from its parent companies to provide a single gateway for over-the-counter (OTC) derivative transaction processing globally. Our combined solution helps to reduce operational risk, streamline processing, and improve the safety and certainty of the OTC derivatives markets by simplifying and automating trade processing across the major asset classes. What You'll Do At the heart of defining early data design decisions Driving a data science roadmap which promotes growth in use of analytics for our external customers and internal platforms Rapidly prototyping data products with clients to identify potential opportunities to grow datasets and services available to clients. Growing the Data Science ML space across the company, with an eventual view of leading the Data Science team. Identifying and specifying datasets with product which will be used by financial institutions across the globe Communication: contextualize and translate a problem and its solution to parties of varying backgrounds Defining how analytics prototypes can be industrialized or used in a production environment for mass use. Documenting system design, core dataset assets and data quality gaps What You Need to Get the Job Done 8+ years of similar relevant experience. Python programming language Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on experimental analysis - creativity An ability to understand when an experiment is worth pursuing to deliver business value Some experience modelling data, both for use in machine learning and for data warehousing Practical knowledge of core machine learning frameworks (scikit-learn, Tensorflow, XGBoost, PyTorch etc) and the understanding when to utilize specific data science techniques Experience with data visualisation technologies (One of QlikSense, Powerbi, Quicksight, Tableau or similar) Strong SQL knowledge Experience writing technical specifications for engineering and development teams Experience of Agile working practices Ability to work independently and proactively learn about the system (adaptive learner) Excellent verbal and written communications skills Desired Skills Experience with Python, with demonstrable knowledge of some of: Pandas, Matplotlib, plotly, PyTorch, Tensorflow and scikit learn (or other machine learning frameworks) Knowledge of financial markets, specifically interest rates and other OTC derivatives Experience with AWS or other public cloud data processing services Knowledge of the Open API framework Knowledge of relational databases, particularly Oracle GIT ----------------------------------------------------------- Equal Opportunity Employer S&P Global is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment without regard to race/ethnicity, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, marital status, military veteran status, unemployment status, or any other status protected by law.
