Mechanical Surveyor - Contractor

<p>ModuSpec first introduced the concept of rig inspection to the market in 1986 and over the past 37 years have been providing unrivalled Rig Intake & Inspection and market leading BOP Compliance & Verification services. We provide assurance and technical advice that supports the improvement of drilling operations with our expertise, including the performance and compliance of rig equipment, the competency of the people and robustness of the management systems in place.</p>

<p>Our focus is on a customized approach, working together with our client and the drilling contractor to challenge the traditional way of working to improve efficiency during the rig selection, inspection, and acceptance process.</p>

<p>Due to continue growth we are seeking various Mechanical Surveyors scopes available on a contract basis from our Aberdeen office covering predominately Europe & Africa, however other global locations may be required in line with several global contracts that in in place with clients</p>

<p><strong>Ideally the individual supplied will have the following experience and skills:</strong></p>

<ul>
<li>Attained status of Chief Engineer, Mechanical Superintendent, Technical Section Leader, and member of a Professional Body.</li>
<li>Have a sound engineering background, ideally served and engineering apprenticeship or engineering degree.</li>
<li>Experience as a line manager/department head, responsible for all maintenance tasks, recording of technical information, delivering technical reports, within a drilling contractor, including but not limited to,</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>drilling equipment</li>
<li>marine systems</li>
<li>hydraulic systems</li>
<li>main machinery</li>
<li>histing / lifting</li>
<li>mud prcessing systems</li>
<li>surface well control</li>
<li>ther rig floor equipment</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Conversant with maintenance management systems, including condition-based monitoring.</li>
<li>Experience of different drilling rig types, including design, generation, manufacturer.</li>
<li>Up to date with industry codes and standards.</li>
<li>Advantageous to have cross-discipline including:
<ul>
<li>hydraulics systems</li>
<li>marine & barge equipment. (knwledge of DP would be a benefit)</li>
<li>health, safety & envirnmental management systems.</li>
<li>subsea well cntrol equipment. (Surface only)</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Experience with an original equipment manufacturer (OEM)</li>
</ul>
