You can learn more about this here. We are seeking a Senior Software Developer (Senior Member of Technical Staff)who loves working on complex problems and getting things done. Your work will shape the first generation of VMware’s Sustainability services. As a member of our team, you will play a key role in understanding customer use cases and defining the end–to-end solution. You will build SaaS microservices on the VMC platform, VMware’s flagship hybrid cloud solution. You will help build services to give customers visibility into the carbon footprint of their cloud operations and ways to reduce that footprint using VMware products. Success in the Role: What are the goals over the first 6 months you will work on ? Become familiar with VMware’s ESG goals, strategic priorities, and technology roadmap. Learn about sustainability projects including architecture, core components and deliverables by each sub-team. Execute on quarterly deliverables including collaboration across sub-teams. Contribute to prototype delivery and VMworld demonstration. What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? Work in multi-functional agile teams to regularly experiment, iterate, and deliver on new product objectives — by participating in all phases of the software development cycle, as part of a Scrum team Take responsibility for the end-to-end test case specification, design, implementation, and automation of key product features. Collaborate with other engineers to architect, design, implement and integrate new and enhanced features with the highest possible quality. Produce automation suites to support long-term maintainability and extensibility of code in a large-scale multi-tenant SaaS environment Obsess over quality in the product, identify trends in product quality and adapt to improve testing and development practices of your team. Explore adoption of new technologies and best practices in both design and test. Required Qualifications: BA/BS or above in Computer Science or equivalent experience. 3+ years of strong industry development/automation experience in Java and knowledge of OO language Hands on experience in Java is a Must. Strong conceptual knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals. Experience using and developing distributed systems. Experience using and developing for scalability and performance, and designing/integrating large-scale systems. Knowledge of VMware vSphere, VROps, VMC. Good understanding of Docker containers, K8s clusters/pods. Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment, Knowledge of devops tools like Jenkins, and source code management tools like GitLab, Advanced familiarity with Linux OS and developing Shell scripts for configuration, deployment and validation of systems. Preferred Experience: Expertise in analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems  Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
