<p><strong>About the role:</strong></p>
<p>This role is critical to progressing the internal audit programme of work, delivered by BDO our internal auditors. Alongside this the role facilitates the risk management approach through supporting directors with their risk registers and providing advice and guidance to colleagues as needed.</p>
<p>We have a well-established internal audit programme and a well embedded approach to risk management. The focus of the internal audit programme work is our Housing Trust and includes the central functions such as finance, technology and HR. Our internal auditors, BDO deliver the internal audit programme, but we need someone to be the interface between the audit teams and internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of the annual internal audit programme.</p>
<p>As part of the wider work around risk and compliance, the role will also actively support the risk management approach which is developing and evolving to tailor to the needs of each part of the organisation. The main focus of the activity will be in the housing trust as an operational service delivery unit.</p>
<p><strong>About you:</strong></p>
<p>The role requires excellent co-ordination and organisation skills and the ability to prioritise effectively to ensure that internal audits are planned in an effective and efficient way. You will be a key point of contact with internal auditors (BDO) and internal stakeholders, so must be able to develop effective relationships quickly to facilitate the smooth running of the internal audit programme.</p>
<p>You will be meticulous by nature, as attention to detail will be essential as you work through audit reports and risk registers noting any discrepancies. You’ll need a good amount of tenacity and technical skills with confidence in using technology tools as a means of tracking audits, findings and follow up actions.</p>
