Functional Safety Engineer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for a Functional Safety Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry to join its team in Chennai. <br><br>Functional Safety Engineer shall be able to provide Engineering support to: <br><br><b> Responsibilities: </b> <br><br><ul><li> Perform hazard analysis and risk assessments to identify potential safety hazards and risks. </li><li> Develop and implement functional safety plans and strategies to mitigate identified risks. </li><li> Conduct safety reviews and audits of products, systems, and processes to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. </li><li> Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of safety considerations into product design and development processes. </li><li> Stay up-to-date with industry developments and emerging safety standards and regulations, and recommend changes as necessary. </li><li> Ensure compliance with functional safety standards, such as IEC 61508, and IEC 61511. </li><li> Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on functional safety matters. </li><li> Develop and deliver functional safety training and awareness programs for relevant stakeholders. </li></ul><br><br><b> Requirements: </b> <br><br><ul><li> Bachelor's degree in Control and Instrumentation engineering or related field. </li><li> 5+ years of experience in functional safety engineering, with a focus on industrial automation applications. </li><li> Strong understanding of functional safety standards and regulations, such as IEC 61508, and IEC 61511. </li><li> Knowledge of risk assessment and hazard analysis methods, including FMEA and HAZOP. </li><li> Ability to perform technical analysis and write clear and concise technical reports, </li><li> Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to a variety of stakeholders. </li><li> Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. </li></ul><br> Familiarity with software development processes and tools, including version control systems, issue tracking systems, and agile development methodologies. <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><b>Qualifications: </b> <br><ul><li> E./B.
