Instrument Designer (Expression of Interest)

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood Applied Intelligence (AI) is seeking expression of interest applicants for an Instrument Designer on a contract basis to support one of our UK projects. <br><br>In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the execution of instrumentation scope on projects. Work shall be carried out in accordance with relevant standards and procedures under a quality management system within manhour and cost budgets and within project schedules. <br><br>Whilst this role can be based anywhere in the UK, mobility and travel to customer sites and face to face meetings with colleagues will be expected as required. <br><br>Applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. <br><br>The ideal candidate will be a motivated designer, able to work unsupervised and as part of a discipline and overall project team and have previous experience executing control and instrumentation project work in the oil and gas industry. <br><br><b>Responsibilities / Duties:</b> <br><ul><li> Provide technical skills and experience in the approach, preparation, checking and fulfilment of calculations, drawings, diagrams and other deliverables and activities </li><li> Produce Instrument datasheets, BOMs, Loop Drawings, Instrumentation Installation Detail Drawings and other related drawings </li><li> Participate in site visits, surveys and queries, including assessment of safety, investigations and documentation when at site </li><li> Have an understanding of the extent, methods and means of producing and need for the Instrument Design deliverables and main activities </li><li> Represent WOOD in a professional, conscientious and ethical manner with clients, suppliers, vendors, contractors and at other offices / sites </li><li> Strong computer skills include MS Office suite and particularly the use of database and spreadsheet applications </li></ul><br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Previous experience in Control and Instrumentation design </li><li> Proficient use of AutoCAD packages </li><li> Hands on experience with Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) will be an added advantage </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
