LDO leverages state of the art technologies, complemented by deep subject matter expertise and broad scientific knowledge, to deliver innovative and comprehensive preclinical in vitro datasets to support our drug discovery pipeline in disease areas such as oncology, immunology, fibrosis, cardiovascular diseases, neuroscience and cell therapy. We seek a highly motivated and innovative scientist to join a team that is currently building a Phenotypic Screening Center of Excellence for the purposes of accelerating drug discovery at Bristol Myers Squibb. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and integrating complex biological cellular models into high throughput small molecule compound screens. These models will include those derived from induced pluripotent stem cells and organoids, as well as a variety of human primary cells in a co-culture environment. This scientist will also participate in the deconvolution and linkage of attractive small molecule leads to their associated biological pathways and targets by the application of various functional genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics approaches. The Phenotypic Screening Center of Excellence (CoE) will engage the entire drug discovery paradigm across all our therapeutic areas thereby providing a unique opportunity to make a significant impact across our portfolio. To be effective in this position the successful candidate will need to possess a broad, strong technical background in isolation and development of novel iPSC and primary 3-D cell culture models, combined with emerging functional genomics technologies in a high throughout setting, and strong communication skills. The successful candidate will have an intense desire to leverage and apply new approaches to the field of drug discovery and make a profound impact on the lives of patients. As a member of this team, a candidate is expected to collaborate effectively with academic and industry partners and be able to translate the knowledge gained from those collaborations into effective drug discovery solutions.
