Cloud Architects will significantly impact the cloud strategy within their organization and devise clear roadmaps to deliver next generation cloud solutions that improve scalability, resiliency, availability of our applications across organizational boundaries What You’ll do: · Participate in relevant solution design activities to ensure alignment to cloud architecture and business strategy · Participate and lead the way to building our multi-cloud strategy · Build cloud native services that scale on-demand, are resilient and highly available · Advocate and provide guidance on best practices for system reliability, availability & scalability · Work with security engineering to incorporate security in our applications deployed on cloud · Build common framework & libraries to promote code re-use and leverage inner-sourcing where possible · Review and enhance overall architecture & engineering practices for domains, in alignment with divisional and enterprise guidelines · Look broadly across the domain to ensure consistency in architecture & engineering practices across the domain · Be hands on and get involved in writing code, designing systems, and mentor engineers · Work with individual teams to do design reviews and code reviews and help them formulate designs and approaches to solve for known and emerging challenges · Ensure design decisions are clearly documented, communicated, and maintained for all initiatives within the domain · Effectively communicate and influence key stakeholders across the domain · Lead the way in keeping both the technology and the technologists in the domain up-to-date with modern cloud architecture & engineering practices · Be the go-to person for a specific technology, platform and general engineering best practices · Help hire and mentor other cloud engineers to bolster S&P Global’s Tech talent · Make sure the overall end-to-end software arch of the platform is cohesive and evolving toward target needs What’s required: · 10+ years of experience of working with technology leaders on the implications & implementation of architectural decisions · 4+ years building cloud native architectures, serverless architectures, architecting enterprise applications on public cloud platforms · In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes and Kubernetes Operators · Knowledge of IaaC tools & technologies · Ability to provide in-depth product evaluations and quick PoCs when needed · Technical expertise in building distributed cloud native solutions · In-depth knowledge of data streaming technologies , big data & polyglot persistence · Experience building service/data frameworks and libraries · Experience building resilient distributed systems that process data at scale · Experience with reactive programming Grade/Level (relevant for internal applicants only): 14 Compensation/Benefits Information (This section is only applicable to US candidates): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $148,200 to $338,600. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
