We’re looking for an Information Governance Officer to join our Legal Services Team.

This is a new role supporting our Information Governance Manager and providing advice and support on Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI) requests and complaints, ensuring that Sport England meets our legal obligations.

You’ll have experience of working in information governance, complaints or member enquiries and an understanding of the principles and application of FOI. You’ll be enthusiastic, motivated and full of ideas, but with a willingness to develop and learn. You would ideally be educated to degree level (or equivalent) but candidates with suitable practical experience are also welcomed.

Day to day you will be responding to FOI requests and complaints as well as record keeping and coordinating information between relevant departments. You will help Sport England to create and maintain FOI, information asset and complaint registers and will be invested in continual improvement of our processes and practices. You’ll have good communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to build strong relationships across the organisation especially with senior executives.

In return we can offer you a competitive salary, excellent benefits and a fantastic work/life balance, whilst doing interesting work in an inspiring sector. We can’t wait to hear from you!

We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds, particularly where we are under-represented. Currently, this includes disabled people and those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups.
