<div class="mds-edited-text mds-font-body-copy-bulk"><p>We are looking for two Science and Innovation Managers to support us in our mission to transform the physics landscape for the UK and Ireland, and ensure a thriving physics ecosystem that contributes to innovation, discovery, research, growth and debate in the UK, Ireland and beyond. Both Science and Innovation Managers will contribute to our work to shape the physics debate, one Science and Innovation Manager will have a focus on science and technology, and one will focus on sectors and business</p>
<p><strong>What will I be doing? </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Convening discussions with the physics community and senior stakeholders to gather and analyse evidence to develop strategies addressing priority issues.</li>
<li>Providing domain knowledge, managing stakeholder relationships, and making connections across the physics science, technology and business landscape.</li>
<li>Leading the development, management and delivery of stakeholder engagement activities including community summits, road mapping, and consultations, as well as writing reports and developing publications to provide evidence to influence agendas, and initiate community actions to address matters of importance for our community.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Projects you work on may include:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>You will lead our portfolio of ambitious science, technology and business projects from conception to final outputs. These projects influence and drive action by senior stakeholders including IOP trustees and government. Previous projects include our Quantum strategy and semiconductor projects.</li>
<li>Implementing a resourcing model to drive innovation and creativity which includes building high performing project teams comprising your direct line report, staff from matrixed teams, interns and secondees.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Who will I work with? </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>You will regularly work with the Head of Science and Innovation, the IOP executive team and other senior stakeholders, to deliver our strategy and our Science and Innovation agenda.</li>
<li>You will directly line manage one officer and manage teams comprising staff from across the organisation as well as manage secondees and interns as part of resourcing strategy.</li>
<li>You will maintain IOP reputation and relationships with senior and influential stakeholders including consultants, academia, industry, public research bodies and government.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Leadership – the capability to promote and generate co-operation, so to achieve collective outcomes; fosters the development of a common vision</li>
<li>Organisational – ability to work with minimum supervision, prioritise workload, and handle multiple tasks</li>
<li>Communication – ability to express information clearly and effectively in written and oral form</li>
<li>Skills in building and managing high performance, matrix-managed and virtual teams</li>
<li>Experience of the physics science and innovation landscape in HEI and Business R&D.</li>
</ul>

<li>STEM or relevant degree is desirable</li>
