Regional Category Manager

Within our supply chain, the Category Manager, Stampings and bearing supports the development and deployment of the global category strategy of stamped and bearing components in the North Americas region. In this role, you will drive towards optimal conditions (cost, commercial, quality, delivery, innovation, VAVE) for the Vehicle Group's Global Stampings and bearing categories by leveraging synergies across regions and driving the “One Supply Chain” philosophy. Job Responsibilities You will support development of and deploy strategic initiatives to facilitate cross-business synergies across a rationalized set of global and regional preferred supplier partners. You will negotiate and manage key strategic supplier contracts and relationships. You will review, approve, monitor and report compliance to category agreements and strategies based upon Eaton SCM strategic directions. You will develop innovative business solutions, forecast commodity projections and provide mitigation actions as applicable to ensure key metrics for the procurement function (Cost Out, DPO, Diversity Spend, etc.) are achieved. You will present new planning tools, methods, technical analysis, standards and procurement opportunities with senior management that are aligned with SCM/Eaton strategic plans and cost reduction initiatives. You will benchmark procurement processes to develop and implement best practices throughout Eaton and Supply Chain Management. You will ensure compliance of suppliers with Eaton SCM Sustainability Programs, Go GREEN initiatives and SCM policies. You will plan, prepare and execute annual profit planning for the owned spend, and support execution with the business cross functional teams. You will lead Supplier Business Reviews with strategic suppliers annually. You will identify potential financial / operational threats to the business and develop / deploy proactive supplier risk mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity. You will facilitate the cross-functional team in effectively managing financially distressed supplier situations with high visibility to senior leadership
LI-MM3 Qualifications Qualifications Education level required: Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business Administration from an accredited institution Preferred Qualifications Professional Supply Chain related certification (e.g. CPM, CPIM) MBA or Master’s degree in Supply Chain from an accredited institution. Years and area of experience required: Basic Qualifications Minimum 5 years' professional experience in Category Management or Procurement or a minimum of 7 years' professional experience in Supply Chain or Operations No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Preferred Qualifications 3-5 years’ professional negotiating experience in a global business environment 2-3 years’ professional experience with accountability across multiple manufacturing facilities. Technical knowledge: Position Criteria Knowledge of the stamped / bearing components industries and ability to identify technology and economical trends within the category Demonstrates knowledge and experience in successfully deploying category strategies and driving cost-out. Creative thinking skills to produce new approaches in category management and implement emerging tools Demonstrates knowledge and experience facilitating cross-functional teams in projects / programs posing significant financial / operational impact to the business with high visibility to senior leadership. Soft skills: Position Criteria Communication, customer service and interpersonal skills necessary to converse with senior management, suppliers, operations and SCM personnel Ability to coordinate cross-functional / global teams Ability to influence and drive effective organizational change across impacted regions/businesses Ability to drive results via fact-based negotiations Ability to manage cost-out projects against scope, schedule and budget.
