Position Summary The Clinical Flow Cytometry team within Translational Sciences and Diagnostics organization is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our world-class team of flow cytometry scientists. This team is responsible for flow cytometry-based biomarker assays for all phases of clinical studies and trials at BMS. The data generated from this team will influence a broad array of decisions around dose optimization, indication prioritization, and potential drug combinations. In this laboratory-based role, the selected candidate will be responsible for flow cytometry-based biomarker assay development, optimization, qualification/validation, and execution supporting drug programs in various therapeutic areas. The candidate must have strong background in multi-parameter flow cytometry, immunology and translational sciences. Key Responsibilities: The chosen scientist will be responsible for: Support and design, develop, optimize, validate, and execute novel flow cytometry-based assays for clinical biomarker studies. A high percentage of time will be spent working in the lab. De novo assay design/development will be required. Understanding and practical implementation of flow cytometry assay/ instrument optimization Perform clinical sample analysis as appropriate Execution of assays may be achieved using in-house laboratories, or by working with vendor labs in an outsourcing fashion Introduce and troubleshoot new flow cytometry methods and platforms Accurate record keeping of experiments and procedures Flow cytometry data analysis and interpretation in support of clinical team’s decision making Provide technical subject matter expertise to stakeholders in the selection of flow cytometry panels Interacting with stakeholders to understand the needs of individual programs, including assay and reportable specifics, timelines, and data delivery needs Work with vendor labs to transfer in-house generated assays and oversee/troubleshoot/quality control data generated by external vendors Minimum Requirements: PhD in a scientific discipline that relates to Immunology At least 3 years of post-graduate flow cytometry experience in high-dimensional flow, receptor occupancy and functional flow Considerable scientific expertise as exemplified by solid publications Be proficient with flow cytometry analysis software such as Flowjo, FCS Express, OMIQ, etc. Must understand flow cytometry data analysis and interpretation Understanding of validation principles for flow cytometry assays for clinical trials Be proficient in writing method procedures and assay validation and study reports Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently, and work in a highly matrixed team Must have excellent communication, organization and record keeping skills Preferred Qualifications: Previous industry experience is a plus Previous experience in hematological malignancies such as MM and AML MRD flow cytometry is a plus Experience with the BD Biosciences flow cytometers and Cytek Aurora is a plus If you come across a role that intrigues you but doesn’t perfectly line up with your resume, we encourage you to apply anyway.
