Under the leadership of the Director of Administration for the Public Health and Health Administration programs, and in collaboration with the faculty program directors, the Program Manager I will: Roles & Responsibilities: Serve as the principal manager of the operations of the Graduate Program in Public Health (consisting of MPH, MS in Epidemiology, Advanced Certificate, and dual degrees) in matters of curricular affairs (including student academic progress), recruitment and admissions, and general program administration. Work closely with the Director of Administration on matters related to the program’s budget and financial operations. Under the guidance of the Director of Administration, assist with activities related with accrediting body (CEPH), including supporting continued compliance with reporting obligations. Involved in that all aspects of program maintain compliance with accreditation standards. Providing input required by other team members in the performance of their work (e.g., recruitment/admissions/student services staff). Resolve day-to-day administrative concerns raised by program faculty or students, including questions about courses, resources, and academic or administrative policy. Work directly with faculty Program Director(s), keeping them informed as appropriate of concerns regarding teaching and learning, student academic progress, and other matters associated with the academic management of the program. Ensure faculty Program Director(s) receive suitable administrative support. Oversee recruitment and admissions activities. Ensure that the Admissions/Recruitment coordinator is in direct and regular contact with applicants regarding the program and applications are reviewed and moved through the process in a timely manner. Manage new projects and initiatives related to admissions and provide administrative direction of the admissions review process. Act as a key point person to central Marketing for the program. With the faculty Program Director(s) and the Director of Program Administration, play a key role in management of program curriculum, and in planning and implementing curricular changes. Maintain close contact with the Admissions/Recruitment/Student Services coordinator to ensure that there are systems in place and fully functional to track student curricular progress and address concerns identified through tracking mechanisms. Act as a key point person for the program for internal contacts (including Enrollment Services, Library, and others) and external contacts (such as professional organizations and institutions with whom we have collaborative agreements). Working closely with the GSBS student affairs team, lead activities related to student life and wellness within the program, including coordinating major events such as New Student Orientation. Act as primary point person to all program faculty. Serve on and provide administrative leadership to a variety of program-specific committees (admissions, curriculum, specialty track, etc.). Develop policies and processes in coordination with Program leadership and other ISMMS infrastructure, including the Registrar, Student Financial Services, Bursar, Enrollment Services, and International Personnel. Together with supporting staff, coordinate the logistics of vital program functions, including course scheduling, communications with students and faculty, and classroom space reservations with guidance of Program Leadership. With support from the Program Coordinator, maintain programs that provide financial support to students, including the Federal Work Study Program, Conference Travel Awards, Teaching Assistant appointments, and other means. Oversee Program administrative calendar, scheduling regular activities and operations. Oversee the degree conferral/graduation process, including monitoring student progress in courses and in the academic program as students approach their program end date. With support from other staff members, manage the update program materials, including those vital to degree completion, e.g., Specialty Track Checklists, Culminating Experience Guide Curriculum Guide, and curriculum flow charts. With the support from other administrative staff members, manage annual orientation events and keystone program events throughout the year, including Public Health Research Day, National Public Health Week, supporting workshops, and other events such as lecture series, alumni and career events. With the assistance from the Program Coordinator, monitor data related to the Program, such as student progress, faculty records, upcoming events, lecture series, etc. In coordination with administrative staff, oversee the development of communication plans including communications to students, program website, marketing, social media as directed by Program Leadership. Serve as the liaison with student council representatives and other student groups. With support from the Program Coordinator, manage the production of the bi-annual newsletter, The Scoop Represent the Graduate Program in Public Health at Graduate School meetings, conferences, committee meetings, and other events. Perform other duties, as assigned, associated with the management and support of graduate programs. Adjust work schedule if needed, to accommodate after hours/weekend functions. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 3 (4+ preferred) years of work experience in higher education or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent organizational skills and ability to coordinate many projects and priorities simultaneously; Proactive in developing policies, procedures, and programs; Outstanding interpersonal skills; Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy; Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn cloud-based communication and project management applications; Experience in an academic medical center a plus. The salary range for the role is $58,661.00 - $67,500.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
