<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Head of Project Controls for our Operations EMEA business. This is a key role within Wood at a time where we have just refreshed our strategy. This role is central to the innovation of one of the main parts of a global business with a revenue of nearly &pound;2 billion pounds in 2022. The ideal candidate will be a team focused leader who is constantly striving for the best for their team whilst also ensuring high levels of communication between all other technical functions. <br><br>This role will provide effective implementation and support of the Project Controls function within the region in order to provide all aspects of estimating, cost control, project planning, scheduling, and risk assessment support to the assignment / project teams and clients within the region. The position may also require a hands - on approach to the delivery of any or all aspects of project controls within one or many projects across the operation. <br><br>To represent / be the voice of the Project Controls function at the weekly Technical Delivery Forum and find the balance between the corporate push and the operations pull, and deal with priorities across all service lines. Be accountable as a stakeholder or sponsor for Project Controls / technical delivery improvement actions (piloted in EMEA) through to delivery and elevating best practice to the Operations Excellence group. <br><br>A fundamental component of this role is ownership and adherence at all levels to the Project Governance Standard, enabling and verifying compliance with this and other relevant global standards in execution and associated project control processes. This role is central to delivering Operational Excellence by assuring operating discipline, working in partnership with the EMEA Business Grouping VP & SVP in a joined - up approach to continual improvement across operational and functional delivery. The EMEA Regional Project Control Manager, will lead by example, consistently displaying and enforcing the Company's values and behaviour, to ensure safe and reliable operations, client satisfaction and predictable outcomes <br><br>Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities : <br><br>Oversight of Project Performance: <br><br><ul><li> Responsible for the provision of Planning, Estimating, Cost Management, Risk analysis, change control and all associated reporting to individual contracts within the region </li><li> Responsible for the day to day management of the Corporate Project Controls function across the region </li><li> Support of the Continuous Improvement process both within the Company as a whole and within the Operations Excellence Function </li><li> Promote Project Controls Awareness throughout the Company </li><li> Identify points of vulnerability by managing interventions on projects and conducting peer and deep dive reviews </li></ul><br> People: <br><ul><li> Leads the Project Control teams across the operations BU, providing oversight on project execution and delivery excellence </li><li> Management of resources within the Project Controls Function including maintenance of salaries, rates, training, staff development & progression </li><li> Ownership of staff performance reviews, development plans </li><li> Manage the training & competency programme for all resources </li><li> Ownership of regional function overhead budget </li><li> Ownership of content of Project Controls graduate & trainee schemes </li><li> Monitor, support and where appropriate, mentor the development of function team members </li><li> Ensure that all team members work safely and are fully aware of all safety policies and initiatives within the Company </li></ul><br> Process & Procedure and Project Governance Standard: <br><ul><li> Ensure compliance with Wood corporate processes and procedures and responsible for development of project specific processes to meet contract / client requirements </li><li> Assure the delivery of projects vs contractual requirements </li><li> Ensure the PMR ( Project Monthly Report ) is issued on time, duly populated and reviewed before being released at the BU level </li><li> Ensure the adherence to the Group Project Governance Standard (BU specific procedure) mainly in term of PMR reviews and applicability as well as the tendering & project start up and execution. </li><li> Ensure proposals and projects are resourced with suitably qualified project management resources in line with the requirements of the proposal and the project </li><li> Involved in tendering activities in ensuring the right information have been provided regarding system and process </li><li> Oversight of all Project Execution Plans to ensure consistency and address any deficiencies; review and approve any proposed deviations from Wood project management standard and procedures </li><li> Monitor the performance of the portfolio of Operations projects against the Project Governance Standard via review sessions, structured reporting, and dashboards </li><li> Ensure end of project reports and Lessons Learned are disseminated among the PC community to ensure lateral learning opportunities are maximized </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br>Qualifications: <br><ul><li> Bachelor's degree in science, engineering or another relevant technical discipline </li><li> Demonstrable experience in providing project management, engineering, procurement and construction services in the Oil and Gas or other sectors </li><li> Strong project execution experience; leadership skills, strategic thinking; oral and written communication skills </li></ul><br> Knowledge, skills and experience: <br><ul><li> Extensive broad and deep global project controls experience in relevant industry sector(s); typically in senior project control, functional management and / or P&L accountable roles </li><li> Excellent understanding of Project Management & Project Controls principles and techniques </li><li> Significant experience with multiple project delivery types including frameworks, portfolios, pre - FEED, FEED, EPCM, PMC and EPC </li><li> Extensive experience and understanding of project execution tools, processes and procedures </li><li> Expert level ability to build and lead a team of technical people, actively supporting, encouraging and engaging those reporting to the position </li><li> A thorough understanding of strategic change management, with the ability to translate this into appropriate goals, methodologies and strategies for implementation </li><li> Strong organizational and time management skills; able to effectively manage within tight time frames, to prioritize, and delegate appropriately </li><li> Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present, inform and persuade at all levels and externally </li></ul><br> Personal attributes: <br><ul><li> Energetic with strong leadership skills and a good balance of humility and self - confidence </li><li> Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross functionally and create trust with seniors, peer group and external stakeholders </li><li> Ability to influence without direct authority and work effectively across a diverse multicultural community at all levels of the organization </li><li> Drives an Enterprise mindset by collaborating and championing innovative change initiatives, focused on improving overall out turn quality and effectiveness </li><li> Challenges and supports the business to drive improvement and learning </li><li> Consistently 'walks the talk' on Wood's shared values and ethical business practices </li><li> Anticipates the environment, is forward thinking and able to see the 'big picture' </li><li> Is creative in the achievement of stretching objectives;
