Piping Engineer (Material)

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood has an opportunity for Piping Materials Engineer. There is an increased thrust to deliver our services for the growing Asian market. As a result of this, Piping Department operation is expanding and evolving to manage the challenges of regional projects that continue to pose challenges in offering our services through a global talent pool. <br><br><ul><li> Report to the Piping Discipline Head / Assigned project lead piping engineer, the main functions of the role will be to interpret Client's specifications and standards as well as preparing specifications for piping materials </li><li> Liaise with the Project Coordinating Engineer regarding the interpretation of Client's Specifications and Standards </li><li> Prepare specifications in accordance with Client's and / or Foster Wheeler's requirements for piping materials </li><li> Liaise with Project Engineers and Technology Group to establish the full range of piping material specifications required </li><li> Review and approve vendor quotations for Procurement and approve Order Variation Summaries </li><li> Manage vendor documents for bulk piping and special items </li><li> Coordinate with Technology Group for the review of welding and painting procedures that are submitted by vendors </li><li> Coordinate and liaise with Design and other Groups including Estimating, Procurement, Construction and Sub-Contracts </li><li> Attend meetings as necessary with Vendors and other Groups and advise on problems within the scope of assigned responsibility </li><li> Establish and maintain a filing system of project documents and carry out proper close out of all project related work </li><li> Provide leave cover and represent piping materials in the absence of Lead Piping Materials Engineer </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in Refinery / Petrochemical / Chemical / Power/ Pharmaceutical Plant Projects </li><li> Knowledge of Piping Material Specifications, International Design Codes & Standards </li><li> Highly motivated, well organized, resourceful and proactive </li><li> Possess good interpersonal skills with sound written and oral communication skills </li><li> Flexible approach and able to work under pressure with a can-do attitude and a desire to win </li><li> Able to promote an open and informal communication environment that aims at growing mutual trust and teamwork </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
