Piping Designer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br><b> Piping Designer - Onshore, Glasgow Based </b><br><br> Wood is recruiting for a developing Piping Designer within our Process & Energy business to support the engineering teams across various project scopes on a permanent basis in Glasgow. <br><br>The opportunity will ensure appropriate reviewing of specifications and design briefs, etc to produce and develop Piping / Mechanical design drawings and documents relating to a wide range of industrial equipment for industries such as oil and gas, petrochemical, speciality chemical and power generation. <br><br>On occasion, the appointed may be instructed by the Lead Designer, Engineers or other company management to provide technical support to other departments / disciplines as required within other areas of the company / organisation. <br><br><b> Join a culture of innovation , pushing the boundaries of what is possible to seek the best solutions for our clients. </b> <br><br> Piping Designers shall have working knowledge of mechanical equipment as well as Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD. As requested by the Lead Designers, Engineers or other management, the appointed will travel to job site / factory to undertake constructability review, measurements, installation check and level surveys, etc. to suit specific projects / clients. <br><br>If all of this sounds good to you, review the typical responsibilities of the role and the requirements of the position below, then follow the link to apply and start your journey with Wood. <br><br><b> Responsibilities: </b><br><ul><li> Consult with and take direction from assigned engineering personnel as and when required </li><li> Once specifications have been developed by the engineers, plan and develop detailed design documents and drawings </li><li> Liaise and co-ordinate with other designers to suit project requirements </li><li> Carry out work activities in accordance with estimated design man hours so as to achieve project / company expectations </li><li> Attend project meetings as required / instructed </li><li> Undertake review and signature check of appropriate design documents generated by other designers and draughtsmen </li><li> Partake in duties associated with document management and archiving in accordance with company and client requirements </li><li> Adhere to company policies and procedures </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br>At Wood, we understand and acknowledge that everyone is different, and we are committed to equal opportunities and want to access all of the talent that is out there.
