Process Engineer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br><b> Process Engineer </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting a <b>Process Engineer</b> on a contract basis to support our process engineering team in Glasgow for a minimum of 12 months. <br><br>The successful candidate will join the process engineering team on project teams and will be involved in the process design across a range of Wood's current projects at all stages of the design process. You will be joining a team servicing a range of different industries including traditional Petrochemical, Refining, Gas and Chemicals projects, but also working in the power sector and emerging technologies, such as Hydrogen and CCS, in the energy transition market. <br><br>We are looking for engineers with the drive and commitment to make a genuine difference to our performance on projects across the full life cycle, from studies and FEED to EPC, to ensure that Wood continues to differentiate itself from its competitors by delivering quality projects to our client's requirements. Applicants with technical skills and experience in these markets are welcome. <br><br><b> Duties and Responsibilities </b><br><ul><li> Complete sizing calculations including: compressible and incompressible hydraulics, vessels, tanks, pumps, control valves and instrumentation. Ensure that calculations and deliverables satisfy all operational and safety requirements </li><li> Prepare process deliverables: Process Flow Diagrams, Mass and Energy Balances, Equipment specifications, P&IDs, Line lists, Tie-in Lists </li><li> Prepare, and take responsibility for the accuracy of calculations, process engineering datasheets and drawings. Execute assigned tasks within the assigned budgets and timeframes </li><li> Identify technical risks and gaps when completing tasks and agree and develop mitigations with the Lead Engineer </li><li> Demonstrate appreciation of project execution and how assigned tasks will impact on process design delivery. Take ownership of follow-on work from assigned activities </li><li> Demonstrate understanding of Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements and consider these requirements when completing tasks </li><li> Communicate effectively within a multi-discipline design team to complete assigned tasks </li><li> Participate in technical meetings with multi-discipline team to complete tasks </li><li> Complete continuous improvement and professional development to meet the requirements of assigned tasks or understand new technology </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Chemical Engineering Degree </li><li> Experience of working on FEED and EPC projects associated with either Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas, Energy or Chemicals sectors. Experience in Carbon Capture and/or Hydrogen considered to be a bonus </li><li> Experience of delivery of Brownfield projects considered to be a bonus </li><li> Proven core Process Engineering skills, including design experience </li><li> A self-motivated, proactive individual with high achievement drive and initiative.
