Our Pacific Development Centre (PDC) is the Research & Development Hub for our Australian & New Zealand markets, based at our large and modern facility in Gepps Cross, Adelaide. Due to robust project pipelining, and ambitious product road-map, we have an opportunity for a Project Design Leader (PDL) to join us and become part of our market-leading team. The Project Design Leader (PDL) will have a mechanical focus and is responsible for the architecture, coordination and execution of engineering designs/activities/deliverables, on current and future Clipsal, PDL and Schneider branded Product. The PDL will work closely with established and equally passionate group of electro-mechanical peers; and also collaborate closely with on and off shore stakeholder teams. This team have great onsite facilities, but are also empowered and trusted, to work in a hybrid working model. The position is based in Adelaide, South Australia, but we could also offer a generous relocation package for interstate applicants. Scope of Responsibility: Provide strong technical vision and ensure use of resources assigned to a specific project or projects, Ensuing delivery of high-quality designs within the PMP framework. Demonstrate ownership and integrity of technical decisions and architectures Review and authorise detailed designs Identify and resolve design issues through collaboration with suppliers and Offer Development Facilitate cross functional team design reviews including design for manufacturing / assembly Maintain an awareness of cost implications of the design Ensure PMP deliverables are tailored and completed to suit the needs of the project Ensure robust quality and safety in our designs and in our products through FMEA process. Forecast project workload, track and update as necessary Demonstrate a sound understanding of customer key deliverable dates Stay abreast of specifications, legislation and regulations Identify opportunities to improve and refine work practices and systems About You: Proven success in a similar role / scope Demonstrable experience overseeing complex technical developments Track record of internal and external customer service Understanding of technical and manufacturing objectives and constraints Tertiary qualification in Mechanical / Mechatronic Engineering, or a similar technical discipline Let us Learn About You!
