Overview The Deputy Director-Automation position is part of the IT Operations team within the PepsiCo CTO Organization at Hyderabad and reports to the Director of IT Operations. PepsiCo has a multivendor hybrid outsourced model for its Infrastructure IT operations. The PepsiCo IT Operations team works with various businesses, in-house IT teams, IT partners, and OEMs to maintain high-quality services around the clock. The Deputy Director-Automation would work with in-house and partner resources and will be responsible for developing and continual improvement of Tooling, automation, and observability platforms towards the goal of proactive Site Reliability Engineering in complex, large-scale Infrastructure production environments. The person would be responsible from strategy to execution, with a Product mindset and transform the existing towards Machine First Delivery Model to have data-driven, automation-led IT Operations for an elevated experience, service stability, and sustainable reduction in Operating Expenses. As a result of rapid growth, the global nature of the business, and the history of multiple outsourcing arrangements, PepsiCo's landscape needs to be more cohesive, with numerous duplications in data and tools and low process adherence. One of the critical expectations of this role is to be streamlined and drive large-scale change forward. This role will need to quickly understand the current landscape and develop the road map to achieve the desired future state. Responsibilities Engaging with Technology teams, product vendors and partner teams to define and to shape and prioritize Proactive SRE objectives and develop strategy and roadmap Using software tools to automate IT infrastructure tasks such as Infrastructure system management, application monitoring and Observability. Apply AI to create intelligent IT operations as ML models reliably detect patterns and build insight from past experience. Develop Ansible artefacts, troubleshoot issues and work on implementing configuration management roadmap of the organization Define and setup the process for managing Ops developed playbooks Administer Ansible infrastructure, perform end to end observability platforms and tooling integration for large Scale Enterprise / Proactive SRE. Interact and collaborate with our stakeholders to identify automation needs and opportunities. Create User Stories for tools and digital products in scope. Qualifications Mandatory Skills Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent experience. 8-12+ years of experience in Tooling, automation and observability platforms in a large-scale production environments Must have experience of Ansible. Will be one of the technical experts for Ansible ecosystem and technical implementation aligned with the automation program objectives Good understanding of ITIL/ ITSM process and Tooling Integration and Workflows. Preferred Skills Positive relationship management skills with partners and senior management, colleagues Strong verbal and written communication capabilities with the ability to communicate optimally and influence at all levels of the organization ITIL v3 / v4 Foundation certified Excellent Skills in Analysis, Reporting and Presentation to be provided to users and technical groups
