Commercial Planning Specialist

<p><b>Commercial Planning Specialist - Oil &amp; Gas<br />
Location: Calgary<br />
Contract: Initially 12 month, potential extension</b><br />

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Downstream Planning, you will be responsible for coordinating work across the Downstream Trading, Supply &amp; Logistics organization. The Downstream Planning team is accountable for the company&
39;s Planning and Budgeting processes. You will be a strategic partner to help the business deliver the annual business plan and monitor key priorities. As we continue to mature our Planning processes, you will bring new insights for how we can improve our planning cycle in this business area.<br />
<br />
Responsibilities:</p>

<ul>
<li>Lead the development of the annual budget for Trading, Supply &amp; Logistics, and related transportation and diluent str for our upstream business plans.</li>
<li>Partner with businesses to develop the 5-year business plan in accordance with corporate objectives and planning guidance</li>
<li>Understand risks and opportunities related to the 5-year business plan and impacts to corporate strategy and priorities.</li>
<li>Work with cross-functional teams who support the Trading, Supply &amp; Logistics to deliver the annual budget and 5-year business plan (e.g. Accounting, Risk, Human Resources, IT, etc)</li>
<li>Working with Finance and the business, monitor the progress and performance of the annual budget</li>
<li>Assess the systems and processes and provide recommendations to improve effectiveness and efficiency in the planning cycle to add value to the business.</li>
<li>Prepare ad hoc analysis for business plan reviews sessions, budget, 5-year business plan.</li>
</ul>

<p>Qualifications:</p>

<ul>
<li>Completed university degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering or related field</li>
<li>Able to engage and influence multi-disciplinary teams</li>
<li>Able to take complex finance and business matters and simplify for senior leader level messaging.</li>
<li>Able to work on a high performing team with competing responsibilities and deadlines.</li>
<li>Extensive experience in commodity trading,</li>
<li>Highly organized, adaptive and flexible to deliver time sensitive material.</li>
<li>Prior success in business process improvement or project execution in the commodity trading</li>
<li>Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.</li>
<li>Superior written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization.</li>
