Oracle Database Administrator

The senior Oracle DBA is responsible for the day-to-day support and maintenance of the DHP platform and infrastructure systems. Experience with design, performance and tuning is essential. The role requires extensive experience in performance and tuning of OLTP and Datawarehouse applications. The Oracle DBA should be motivated, hands on, sensitive to risks and controls, work well under pressure and possess strong problem analysis/troubleshooting/design/performance & tuning skills. Work in a team with focus on Production Support, performance and tuning, design, deployment and support of Oracle and Oracle RAC Database for DHP Platform and Infrastructure systems. Analyze the needs of users to help identify Database problems and initiate the process for proposing solutions. Ensure requirements of the business users are captured, documented and clearly understood by development, QA, and other IT groups before a solution is developed and implemented. Coordinate and participate in Hosting Services stability initiatives that aim to improve integrity of the production environment. Build and support the BCP initiatives and ensure infrastructure compliance against security baseline and Audit requirement. Perform above tasks while at the same time adhering to Hosting Services policy around incident, problem and change management and best practices. Good verbal and communications skills are essential as are project/time management skills. Management experience though not required is also highly desirable Technical Requirements: Oracle 10g, 11g Oracle RAC Oracle OMS GRID Oracle Design Database Performance Tuning Linux, Solaris Knowledge of MSSQL a plus Oracle Database Admin
