The role will act as a key driver for implementing the GSK enterprise D&A Strategy within Finance, Procurement & across global functions, and will support the ongoing Digital, Data & Analytics (DDA) transformation aligned with the company’s ongoing commitment to innovatively meet challenges and leverage opportunities posed by shifting market forces, evolving regulatory environments, changing patient needs and expectations, and emerging developments in healthcare. Reporting to the Head of Data & Analytics for Global Functions, this role will serve as a functional D&A tech leader, and internal thought partner to Finance & Procurement DDA leaders to help shape and drive the transformation of GSK’s big data and analytics capabilities, culture, and best practices. This will enable the use of new technologies and collaborative practices, to grow data science, to improve data quality, and to support line-of-business analytics strategies, initiatives, and programmes. The primary accountability of the Senior Director, Data & Analytics Global Functions is to lead a team to develop, delivery and support analytics ready data sets and data products through the enterprise data platforms from data ingestion to presentation/consumption into Finance & Procurement functions to delivery greater business value. The types of data products include data models, dashboards, advanced analytics products, visualization products, cognitive automation, machine learning and artificial intelligence products and aim to help make GSK one of the world’s most innovative, best performing, and trusted healthcare companies. In addition, the role will be responsible for the development of the D&A portfolio for all global functions to support the activation and prioritization of high value D&A use cases through the creation of D&A squads, MVP resourcing of D&A experts, and scaling to sustainable data products within the portfolio with relevant governance, stakeholder management, and consistent monitoring & reporting of business value delivery. Partnering with global function D&A teams to agree accountabilities including funding models and cross-functional ways of working with GP&T, Digital & Tech, and the business. Embedding relevant data & analytics capabilities and best practices will be critical to the successful evolution of the D&A portfolio to ensure scalability across the global functions. Some of your responsibilities will be: Accountable for managing a team of data experts to develop and deliver data products within the Finance & Procurement product area, and support the broader GSK enterprise D&A Strategy to ensure Finance & Procurement specific data & analytics technology requirements are represented in the enterprise data platforms Responsible for developing a D&A portfolio across all global functions, with best-practice ways of working including programme governance, stakeholder management, and monitoring & reporting of business value delivery for all D&A use cases Lead the ongoing agenda, roadmaps, strategies and tactics definition, processes, adoption and value generation for big data, analytics & AI/ML for Finance & Procurement Partner with Finance & Procurement D&A teams to align on strategy and objectives for how data products will be delivered, including working with our core D&A platform and GP&T teams to ensure the right data platform components are available to meet our data and analytics ambition Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of data products for Finance & Procurement including data engineering to create analytics ready data sets, development of the data products, and on-going support and maintenance and enhancements Lead a team to deliver product-centric and agile data products within Finance & Procurement, with a strong focus on effective partnership with domain experts within GP&T to ensure business context and value are clearly understood, requirements are clear & unambiguous to enable efficient data ops and data engineering delivery, and continuous feedback from business customers and end users are fed into the agile process Build a framework and governance structure for prioritisation of high value D&A use cases across all global functions Partner with domain Digital & Tech teams to ensure delivery expectations and timelines are ambitious but realistic, and that progress is clearly and transparently communicated with one Digital & Tech voice into business stakeholders across global functions Inspire and influence senior stakeholders on the opportunity of data & analytics to delivery significant business value for GSK Take an active role in advocating a Data Driven Culture and Data Literacy across Global Functions Experience required: Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related discipline. Master’s degree in data science or related discipline would be preferred 10+ years of experience leading teams for large organisations that includes both data and analytics product and service development Experience of managing high performing teams, building relationships, and holding external service partners to account Strong knowledge of enterprise data platform technologies, D&A tool stacks, data quality, integrity, security, curation, ingestion, and visualisation Demonstrate exceptional executive-level relationship building skills with strong ability to influence others Proven record of working closely with line-of-business technology and business partners to successfully drive objectives and deliver business value Demonstrated execution experience leading large scale programs Leadership across a complex matrixed environment Operating in a fast-paced business critical environment Demonstrate excellent persuasion, negotiation, presentation, and verbal communication skills
