What You Will Do Ascension (Oshkosh) is looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Optometrist for our Optometry Department. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension to provide Optometry services to patients. Responsibilities: Examines eyes, using observation, instruments and pharmaceutical agents, to determine visual acuity and perception, focus and coordination and to diagnose diseases and other abnormalities such as glaucoma or color blindness. Analyze test results and develop a treatment plan. As appropriate, prescribes eyeglasses, contact lenses, vision therapy and low-vision rehabilitation. Consults with and refer patients to ophthalmologist or other health care practitioner if additional medical treatment is determined necessary. Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients. Job Requirements Licensure/Certification/Registration: Required Credential(s): • Optometrist credentialed from the Wisconsin Optometry Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Education: • Doctor of Optometry (OD) required.
