Principal Process Engineer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently seeking a <b>Principal Process Engineer</b> in order to grow its Brisbane Mining & Minerals group to meet the large demand in critical metals projects. <br><br>Wood is at the forefront of engineering solutions for a net zero future. In this highly visible role, some tasks and responsibilities you will undertake may include (but not limited to): <br><br><ul><li> Manage and execute the delivery of best practice process plant designs and associated services in designated studies and projects in-line with Wood's organisational objectives and client requirements </li><li> Ensure the team maintains a leading edge technical capability through the development of people, designs, industry contacts, new technologies and innovative practices </li><li> Develop innovative solutions to complex process and technical problems for a wide range of commodities </li><li> Provide technical guidance and advice to other functional departments and the wider organisation as required </li><li> Ensure process designs meet required safety standards and actively participate in HAZOP studies and design reviews </li><li> Assist the business development team in identifying business opportunities, preparing high calibre proposals and developing client relationships </li><li> Undertake site visits to support study and project work requirements as required </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br>This opportunity will see you will join a cohesive and collaborative team of likeminded, agile industry peers who are highly qualified, experienced, and recognised industry innovators. Your opportunity is to create new possibilities and develop solutions to complex processing challenges or guide new processing methodologies, as this global industry progress's forward into a new era. <br><br>As a highly qualified engineer with technical expertise in the field of Hydrometallurgy your passion and knowledge will also see you have the following skills/attributes. <br><ul><li> High pressure acid leaching </li><li> Atmospheric leaching </li><li> Pressure oxidation </li><li> Solution purification via solvent extraction, precipitation, ion exchange, etc. </li><li> Metal production via precipitation, electrowinning, etc. </li></ul><br><br>You will also have: <br><ul><li> A minimum of 15 years' experience in the mining or minerals processing industry </li><li> Relevant process plant operational experience </li><li> Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills </li><li> Strong analytical, literacy and numeracy skills </li><li> Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team </li><li> Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs </li><li> Experience with metallurgical balancing and simulation software such as SysCAD and/or METSIM is essential </li></ul><br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
