Find out more: Our approach to R&D Antibody Discovery Scientist (m/f/d) Biopharmaceuticals The Antibody Selections section has an opening for experienced scientists to join the in-vivo antibody discovery team. Using our, human antibody expressing transgenic mouse model, you will be involved in optimising the immunisation and B-cell screening to enable the discovery of high-quality hits by high throughput detection and isolation of antigen specific B-cells. In this role your responsibilities will be Taking on the predominantly lab-based role of ‘campaign leader’ for the organisation and execution of an antibody discovery project Analysis of immunised animal sera to titre the antigen specific response by ELISA, iQue screener, Flow cytometry, etc as required by the project Isolation of antigen specific B-cells using FACS and Beacon platforms for downstream v-gene cloning and expression Data entry into our Antibody Discovery database system as the project progresses V-gene sequence analysis to understand the output from the immunisations Communication with partner groups, project teams and stakeholders on the status and progression of the immunisation project. Qualifications & Skills We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Demonstrated experience with flow cytometer operation and FACS sorting of mouse/human immune cells for single B cell selection B-cell v-gene antibody cloning theory and practice (cDNA generation, PCR, PCR fragment sequencing, cloning) Demonstrated ability to lead an antibody discovery project Demonstrated immunoassay design and practical experience Ability to work with or quickly learn IT systems that support antibody discovery, experimental writeups and data analysis. Preferred Qualifications & Skills If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Beacon instrument operation experience, but training will be provided Experience is using liquid handlers for practical work In-vivo immunisation experience Experience in immunoassay design and execution good IT literacy Why GSK?
