­ditional Information About the Role Independence Center is a community-based rehabilitation program for adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses in the St. Louis area, built on the Clubhouse model of psychosocial rehabilitation. Overview BJC Behavioral Health is a community health center that provides and coordinates behavioral health services for more than 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Fran�ois, Iron and Washington counties. As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), BJC Behavioral Health serves as a major point of entry for people eligible for mental health services funded by DMH and is responsible for serving as gatekeeper to the public mental health system. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Clubhouse Supervisor - Independence Center (IC) is responsible for assisting the Clubhouse Manager in the effective and professional management of Independence Center's Clubhouse Program. This position serves as a member of the Clubhouse leadership team and helps to ensure that the strategic direction of the Independence Center and its programmatic and administrative goals & objectives are met. Responsibilities Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals. Provides clinical oversight to ensure that the day-to day operation achieves its goals in accordance with Clubhouse International, Individual Placement and Supported Employment Standards; ensures unit structures, visuals, and workflows that create opportunity for maximum member participation in Clubhouse operations; actively participates in job development activities to obtain employment opportunities for members; provides field mentoring towards job development and transitional employment placement management skills. Demonstrates leadership towards achieving goals in accordance with Independence Center philosophy as well as within guidelines of licensing and accrediting bodies. Ensures an inclusive culture that creates opportunity for maximum member and staff participation in Clubhouse operations; provides leadership for and facilitates various Clubhouse meetings; involves Clubhouse members and staff in all levels of decision making. Maintains responsibility for monthly unit reports (unit program report, outcome surveys, and inactive outreach reports, etc.); initiates unit reviews and develops action plans that address needed program improvements; consults with the Clubhouse Manager to assure that program improvements are having a positive impact; regularly reviews systems for improvements and enhancements of organizational operations. Assures excellent communication and coordination of services with other programs and staff of the Independence Center; attends community functions and participates in speaking engagements to promote Independence Center services and to help reduce stigma associated with mental illness; develops solid working relationships with outside agencies towards providing access to necessary community resources and referral sources. Oversees the operations and effectiveness of assigned Clubhouse unit; assures all unit functions are consistently and effectively implemented and that the unit is achieving positive outcomes for members; assures strong Clubhouse model practices through the coordination and implementation of Clubhouse standards; oversees the roles of the psychiatric rehabilitation and employment specialists. Assures compliance with all accrediting bodies, Evidence Based Practices and funding sources including, the standards of the Clubhouse Model of Psychiatric Rehabilitation, the Individual Placement and Support model of Supported Employment, guidelines of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and the regulations of the state Department of Mental Health and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.
