Sustainability Manager

<p><b>Overview / Responsibilities </b><br />

Wood is recruiting a Group Sustainability Manager to provide direction, support and advice across the organisation on all aspects of Wood&
39;s sustainability programme and wider sustainable development agenda. The roleholder will report directly to the Sustainability President and ensure that Wood develops, delivers and communicates strong sustainability credentials that support the business strategy both internally and externally. this will include crafting high quality sustainability and ESG disclosures working closely with our sustainability and ESG representatives and SMEs across the business. The Group Sustainability Manager should be a passionate advocate for all aspects of sustainable development with a knowledge of international sustainability related standards, particularly across the social agenda. This role can be based throughout the UK or Europe and is offered on a hybrid-working basis.<br />

<b>Key Responsibilities</b></p>

<ul>
<li>Support the development, evolution and implementation of Wood&
39;s global sustainability programme deployed to achieve company goals and objectives</li>
<li>Maintenance and development of Wood&
39;s external Sustainability Hub. Collaborating with Wood&
39;s functional and operational SMEs to ensure data is current and accurate and evolving content to reflect developing stakeholder expectations .</li>
<li>Develop, prepare and author Wood&
39;s sustainability report(s) and ESG Data sheet for publication on Wood&
39;s external website and completion of UN Global Compact communication.</li>
<li>Support, maintain and enhance Wood&
39;s internal Sustainability Training Academy resources and provision of bespoke training and briefing events to key internal stakeholders.</li>
<li>Setting up and maintaining sustainability related forums e.g. Community Investment Committee, overseeing its effectiveness to deliver Woods objectives. Coordinate group-wide sustainability awareness campaigns, e.g. environment day</li>
<li>Develop and maintain Wood&
39;s approach to Modern Slavery in conjunction with relevant business stakeholders culminating in a collaborative production of Wood&
39;s public statement on Modern Slavery and Human Rights.</li>
<li>Represent Wood on external sustainability committees, forums and conferences inclusive of the Building Responsibly organisation.</li>
<li>Working with BU sustainability leads to ensure that Wood are up to speed with key client and peer approaches to the sustainability and ESG; working with Business Development utilise this knowledge to its full advantage.</li>
<li>Work across a broad range of ESG topics, including climate change, supporting the sustainability team and our business partners.</li>

<li>Degree qualified (desirable)</li>
<li>HSE/Env or DE qualification (desirable)</li>
</ul>

<p><b>Knowledge, skills and experience:</b></p>

<ul>
<li>Broad understanding of the sustainable development agenda</li>
<li>Highly competent report writing internally and externally</li>
<li>Experience in developing sustainability programmes</li>
<li>Proven ability to develop sustainability strategies for multinational environments</li>
<li>Clear understanding of carbon compliance requirements</li>
<li>Knowledge of implications of Modern Slavery in the industrial, oil &amp; gas and construction sectors</li>
<li>Setting strategic sustainability targets and objectives</li>
<li>Understanding of the international agenda on sustainability e.g. Equator Principles, UN GC</li>
<li>Completion of sustainability benchmarking surveys e.g. BiTC, DJSI</li>
<li>Able to clearly communicate to internal and external stakeholders</li>
</ul>
