Technical Safety Engineer III

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Massy Wood is recruiting for a Technical Safety Engineer with significant experience in the oil and gas industry. <br><br>The Technical Safety Engineer is required to support multidisciplinary engineers and designers to ensure effective implementation of safety and environmental regulatory requirements whilst observing risk management processes. <br><br><ul><li> Produce Technical Safety engineering deliverables required for project execution. Such document include safety engineering philosophies, safety screening documents, safety specifications, equipment specifications. </li><li> Participate/facilitate in formal process safety assessments such as HAZID, HAZOP and SIL target setting studies, and generate study reports. </li><li> Input to, and participation at project design assurance reviews such as P&ID reviews, HAZCON, Constructability reviews. </li><li> Undertake hazard consequence analysis using software such as DNV Phast (cloud dispersion, Jet Fire, Fireball, Vapour Cloud Explosion) </li><li> Assist Project Management to assess risks both qualitatively and quantitatively, while making major engineering decisions </li><li> Carryout active and passive fire protection assessments including, but not limited to, fire risk assessments, fire protection philosophies, fire water demand calculations, fire water adequacy checks, hydraulic calculations using PIPENET spray/sprinkler module and fire water system adequacy checks and performance monitoring. </li><li> Hazardous area classification following industry codes and guidance </li><li> Develop and implement functional safety management plans. </li><li> Produce and review specifications, data sheets, schedules, study reports, and design calculations; ensuring that they conform to engineering quality, competence, and project management systems </li><li> Provide technical support to projects and sites as required </li><li> Support to projects on regulatory requirements </li><li> Attend client meetings and communicate issues with lead engineer as required. </li><li> Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement </li><li> Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislative changes, initiatives and industry technology developments </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Degree in appropriate Engineering Discipline </li><li> Minimum 5-8 years experience </li><li> Relevant project experience </li><li> National citizen or permanent resident of Trinidad & Tobago </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
