Pressure Parts Engineer

<p><b>Overview / Responsibilities </b><br />

Wood is currently recruiting for a Pressure Part Engineer with extensive experience in the Power Plants industry to work in our offices located in Las Rozas (Madrid). The selected candidate will have the opportunity to get involved in international projects worldwide.<br />
<br />
Main responsabilities:</p>

<ul>
<li>Perform the function of Pressure Part Engineer on large or complex projects, including Design and Supply of Power plants boiler pressure parts</li>
<li>Perform boiler pressure parts stress calculations and material selection: tubes, headers, drums, transference pipes, tanks, etc</li>
<li>Boiler General Arrangement</li>
<li>Performs technical calculations and technical reports</li>
<li>Assures contract specifications, applicable codes and company procedures are fulfilled</li>
<li>Prepares technical data sheets, material takeoff and specifications</li>
<li>Prepares, verifies and/or approves pressure parts drawings related to the technical calculations performed</li>
<li>Ensures successful completion of the assigned deliverables per contract requirements within the budgeted time and cost constraints of the project/proposals</li>
<li>Reports to the Section Manager any technical project/proposal difficulty and /or out of standard solution to be approved</li>
<li>Coordinates and supports the Project Engineering Manager in the technical aspects of the project</li>
<li>Check, comment, and approval of boiler pressure parts shop drawings</li>
<li>Co-ordination with pressure parts team and also with other teams of different disciplines</li>
<li>Identify circumstances considered likely to result in contract changes</li>
<li>Advise the Project Engineering Manager of any slippages and their causes and proposed corrective action</li>
<li>Provide guidance and training to junior and trainee engineers</li>
</ul>

<p><b>Skills / Qualifications</b></p>

<ul>
<li>Mechanical Engineering or equivalent</li>
<li>More than 5-10 years relevant experience in Power Plant Projects (design and calculation)</li>
<li>Excellent command of Spanish and English languages</li>
<li>Knowledge of American and International Standards and Codes (ASME I, ASME VIII and European codes)</li>
<li>Modelling package experience of Solid works</li>
<li>User of PV Elite</li>
<li>User of Autocad</li>
<li>User of Solid works Simulation or ANSYS (valued positively)</li>
<li>Advanced user of MS Office specially EXCEL</li>
<li>Holding a valid permit to live and work in Spain is required</li>
</ul>
