If that excites you, we'd love to chat.   We are looking for a Senior Software  Engineer with a track record of developing production-grade data-driven software solutions and in-depth knowledge of modern software engineering best practices. This role will be critical in allowing us to scale our modeling efforts and build out an ecosystem of services that will support advanced modeling efforts within the AI/ML team and across GSK. The candidate should be comfortable being fully accountable for the software engineering component of complex technical products. A background in molecular biology is not a requirement, but the ability to engage effectively with AI/ML and biology subject matter experts will be an important part of the role. This will help us to understand any modifications we may need to make to support you throughout our selection process. *LI-GSK Why you?  We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:  Basic Qualifications: A degree in a quantitative or engineering discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, among others); OR equivalent work experience as a professional software engineer.  Vast experience of professional software development practices: code standards, code review, source control, CI/CD, testing, documentation,  agile methodologies, with the ability to mentor others in these practices  Proven experience with Python programming and a track record of delivering robust software solutions Experience with data management at scale and parallel distributed computing Strong command of SQL and relational databases Experience working with cloud infrastructure services or HPC Preferred Qualifications:  If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:  Familiarity with machine learning principles and state-of-the-art modeling approaches, including major deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, CUDA)  Experienced with file formats suited for tabular or bioinformatics data (HDF5, parquet, BED, FASTQ etc.) Background in genetics or molecular biology, or experience working with biological data (e.g. genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics)  Contributions to open-source projects Why GSK?
